I have a very vague memory of seeing the Go-Go's at Red Rocks once - there is a lot ot be said for copious amounts of alcohol and repressed memories.

Bush is without a doubt the worst live band I have ever seen. Talk about an unspirited, untalented lot. And they're pompous asses, too: they took at least 15 minutes to come back for the encore the sheep were demanding. At least 15 minutes! And during this whole time, the lights were still dramatically down as an indicator that yes, there would be an encore. BLEH

"YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME?" - The chilling words of the Shockmaster!

"Here comes Charles Benoit, and he's really mad.....Charles Benoit is here, and he's FUCKING CRAZY"- T.R. on the barbecued cat thread (it's too terrible to link)

THE AWESOME UNDERTAKER drives out - damn, how did those STEEL steps rise up onto their ends and out of the way of - hey wait, I see DUDES there! They must be soulless minions of Big Evil's Red Devil Underwood Deviled Ham Team Evil. What? - CRZ, back to his old antics

Amateurs. All of you.

I actually saw the ultimate bad 80's "Zeppelin-wanna-be" crap-fest known as Kingdom Come open for the Scorpions around 1988 or 89. Holy crap that was bad. The bass player tripped and fell face first. The drummer tried showing off by tossing a stick in the air...and didn't catch it. You couldn't miss it due to the thump it made on the lower tom that it landed on. Then the dreaded words..."We're going to try something new tonight..."

Let's just say they shouldn't have.

Absolutely the worst performance I've ever seen live.

Oh yeah, forgot about Crazy Town.

That was very enjoyable because we booed the piss out of them as well. We had ECW style chants of Off the stage, Fuckin faggots, He's a homo, You suck dick, You fuckin suck, etc. Quite fun.

Plus, Zakk Wylde ranked on all the faggot hip hop metal bands(not by name, but might as well have since Zakk could kick all their asses combined)such as Crazy Town,Linkin Park, Papa Roach. Also ranked on the people in the crowd who liked that shit and dressed all wigga like some of those bands. Pretty much a Phil Anselmo level rant in the middle of his guitar solo. Fuckin Bad Ass.

Also, did you guys see the same Down as me. They fuckin rocked the second stage like no fuckin tomorrow. Them and Hatebreed were the only enjoyable bands on the second stage all day. BTW:Phil Anselmo would jump in the crowd and kick your ass if he saw you either boo Down or show indifference to them. Down II. is by far the album of the year. Long live Southern Swamp Metal.

If you saw Down in NY: Phil told you guys you sucked because you, well.....sucked. Us Massholes busted heads during Down and Hatebreed. Heard you guys were a terrible crowd(but I won't blame you too much since you had to sit through the worst Ozzfest lineup in history, and I've been to all of them). Shame on Sharon and whoever else put on this pathetic lineup. And shame on anyone who didn't get up and either take a shit or get something to eat during System of a Down. Besides the fact that they suck, they are American hating sonsabithces who are indeed getting a fat paycheck in....America. Go the fuck back to Armenia you little bitches.

I remember seeing Primus open for Rush back in 1992 and after their opening song "Jerry Was a Race Car Driver," they completely lost the crowd. The most telling sign was when one of the guys tried to do a Kashmir riff a la Jimmy Page and was met with ZERO reaction.

Then Rush did their thing and the crowd went nuts, great show, etc. But the Primus performance before that sucked.

Which reminds me of when I saw Primus back in '95. Primus didn't suck(they actually did a very good show) but they were touring with the Meat Puppets. Crowd was dead to the world, except for the brief flickering moment of caring when they started to play "Backwater", and then that was it. Horrible performance, saved by the Primus show.

Actually I don't use it anymore, but it was the easiest way to describe the way hip hop metal bands and their fans dress, other than describing each article of clothing.

Forgot to add that the Highlander theme song rocks. I remember that show being on before Raw or before the show that was before Raw on USA.

I don't like Hip-Hop Metal bands but I do dress in baggie clothing basically because I am a Big and Tall man.

And I have been seeing the ads for Queen Greatest Hits and the was the first time I heard it in a long time.I always remember that "Highlander" was on after Raw.

Actually, as far as nu-metal goes, I couldn't agree with you more.I DESPISE that shit - Crazy Town is probably the worst band I've ever sat through (besides the unfortunite Lifehouse show I managed to see a couple posts back).

I'm not going to get into the whole "if you disagree with any government policies when a Republican is "President" then you hate America" thing again, considering I just finished that one up in the Politics forum, I refer to the fact that you can't get through a simple paragraph without using the word "fag" thirty times. Jeebus, man, no one thinks you're gay - calm down.

And, yeah, Black Label Society rules all - I wish they had more than a fifteen minute set, though. Although Zakk Wylde was playing two shows a night, so you kind of understand why they had to cut his first set down. Still sucks, though.

And I don't care if the guy from Down is the guy from Pantera or not, he came across as a huge fucking poseur, trying way too hard to get the crowd to think he was a bad motherfucker. Although his band must've practiced for hours to master that chord.

Oh, and Pittsburgh is still a fourty-five minute drive East of West Virginia and, I promise you, that makes all the difference. (Between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, it kind of turns into Alabama, but that's a whole other post.)

Actually PAL, I only used the term faggot twice. Once when referring to the chants we had going during Crazy Town because not only did they suck musically, but the lead singer was getting on his knees and singing right near the dick of another bandmate. 2 other chants directly correlate to the actions of the lead singer-"He's a homo" and "You suck dick." Although "you suck dick" also was used as a chant because it's easier to.....chant. These are ECW style chants after all. Plus faggot doesn't necessarily have to refer to being a homo. When used to refer to people that are stains on the earth(such as Crazy Town), it just means you suck really bad. Oh yeah, when I write the word faggot the second time it is in reference to Zakk Wylde ranking on all the faggot hip hop metal bands because that is exactly what he did and the term he used for them. My bad for not using "QUOTES."

As for Phil: How many other bands besides Pantera have gone platinum almost every record without selling out one bit? And with no help from anyone in the radio and tv business. They have. He has every right to be a pompous prick and it makes for an amusing and fun show. Especially the time he told the crowd to stab their friends in the face before they got a chance to stab you in the back. Fuckin hilarious and disturbing all at the same time.

I saw that tour as well. Primus was like listening to a 30-minute sound check. The crowd was oblivious.

No love for anyone who uses the term "fag," "faggot" or any other gay bashing to hate on someone. It's unoriginal. "You suck dick" is fine, even though I perculated on someone at King of the Ring for chanting it at Matt and Jeff, and me when I hated on his lone "Whole F'n show" try. Of course he had on an ECW Lance Storm shirt. It just shows ignorance when you use those dated ass terms. You can't come up with anything other than homo slurs?

Intelligence is knowing when and when not to say something. Also, it's knowing when not to show your ass in public. Get a clue. You go on a whole diatribe about someone going back to Armenia because their political views are somewhat different than yours, when you can't even accept a population of people that makes up about 10-15 percent of our country now? Oh, well, I can't really put you over the coals more than anyone else in this forum has, but there's better ways to express yourself than the no-class way you do.

I RESPECT your opinion. Please respect mine. Or feel the wrath of Buddha!

That match wasn't no four stars, just like he ain't the "King of R&B"! You ain't that high! Now, I'm not saying you're a crack-head. Just very...Crackish. The set sucked b\c Corgan whined the entire time about being hit with a shoe the last time they went through Houston. So of course after a couple of songs were done and done badly the shoes started flying. The set sucked but it was fun to watch Billy cry. The Beastie Boys and Parliament Funkadelic made that entire show and they played before SP so I guess it was hard to follow that.

Worst Live Performances I Have EVER E-E-EVER WITNESSED:

2001: The Black Halos opening for The Offspring. They just shouted...no lyrics that could be understood...just loud, drunken shouting. Horrible.

1999: Edgefest '99, Len & Serial Joe [tie] Serial Joe was a quasi-famous teen rock group that had it's one and ONLY brush with fame after their debut album. They sucked real bad, the only good point being the fact that due to the band's low age (16 on average), they had to perform early so they could get home in time for bed. Len was just ameteurish and crappy.

Hmmmm... since I replied in the other thread, perhaps it's appropriate to reply in this thread, too, heh heh heh...

+ Plant/Page - No Quarter, January/February 1995, Miami Arena, Miami, Florida. Worst. Concert. Ever. Saw Plant and Page's MTV "No Quarter" special, and liked it; I especially loved their new version of "Kashmir." Then I finally got to the show... had to blow off management duties for the UM Orchestra, who was also performing in concert on campus that night. In retrospect, I should've sold my ticket and gone to see the UM Orchestra - it would've been a better concert. Pot smoke and drinking all over the damn arena by burnt-out 30- and 40-year olds desperately trying to relive their youth... and an upper section full of idiots who couldn't be controlled by the arena staff (To say this arena staff guy in our section was a spastic retard would be an insult to red-blooded, American spastic retards everywhere, he was that bad and that freaking dumb...). Poor lighting and an uninspired show didn't help much, either. I walked out of the Arena while they were playing "Kashmir."

+ Soul Asylum - Grave Dancer's Union, Winter/Spring 1993, University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. Rather than try to match the high-energy fun set of their opening act, the Goo Goo Dolls (who were supporting "Superstar Car Wash", the album before the Sellout Album known as "A Boy Named Goo"), Soul Asylum decided to play a drunk, uninspired set. It was about three songs in before the band even acknowledged the audience, when singer Dave Pirner said, "Hi," in a drunk, sarcastic, annoyed manner. That was it. "Hi." You could see that they were desperate to get something going when they whipped out their hit song, "Somebody to Shove," in mid-set... rather than saving it for the end of the set. These guys got blown off the stage by the band that would record "Iris" five years later. Not exactly something to be proud of.
+ Rolling Stones - Bridges to Babylon, October/November 1997, Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey - Friday night traffic on the Turnpike from Princeton to the Stadium made the drive take forever... not to mention the endless stream of idiot drivers in the Stadium's parking lot. Thanks to the traffic, I totally missed opening act Foo Fighters. I'd thought I'd received good seats on the lower end of the stadium... only to find out I was in the lower mezzanine, with most of my view of the stage blocked by the overhand for the level above us. The band's stuff for Bridges of Babylon seemed uninspired, and the band just wasn't doing it for me that night. Also, I was at this show nursing a dislocated finger that was still in a splint, and dealing with drunk idiots that wouldn't know good music if it bit them on the ass (Had I not had the dislocated finger, I might have picked a fight with one idiot who was heckling Keith Richards from our section while Keith was singing one of his tunes. >:-( ). I don't even think I bought a t-shirt or any merch that night... I left while they were playing "Jumpin Jack Flash" or "Brown Sugar." That's how disillusioned I was with the show. :-(

+ Screams 'n' Dreams - December 1992, Bayfront Ampitheater, Miami, Florida. Opening Act for the Aqua Tour by Asia, where I got to sit sixth-row center for free. The band had terrible sound, and was one of those bands that just gave 80s metal a bad name. Their equipment gave them terrible sound. They had a horn section that consisted of a trombone player, a trumpet player, and maybe a sax player who looked totally out of place with the band for the songs that they played on. And to top it all off - the band did a cover version of "Lady Marmelade" by LaBelle. I shit you not. The bizarre thing? After they finished that song, the singer said, "Bet you never thought you'd hear that shit again!"... nine years before the version for "Moulin Rouge" was recorded.

RageRockrr - Randomly Selected Wiener of the Day Conspiracy Victim
"Thanks RageRockrr! You're the coolest!" - Excalibur05, March 10, 2002.
"Thank you for bringing back a DEEP 80s memory, Rage. THANK YOU." - DMC, June 6, 2002.

Mr. Broslofski: Now you go brush your teeth, and march into bed. You won't be opening your Hannukuh present tonight.
Kyle: Probably just another stupid dreidel anyway.
Mr. Broslofski: What did you say?!?
