I don't think this is a major shock to anyone, we all had a hunch he would show up come hell or high water, but it's nice to have it confirmed ahead of time so we're not left wondering.

Confirmation that he'll appear on camera would probably mean more. (Although I'm quite sure this has to signify that as well, as if WWE put that up without TNA's approval they're going to be in even more legal shit).

Has anyone heard about some dress code for the Hall of Fame? I would hate to not pack my dress shoes and "formal attire" and not be able to get in.

I believe "dress casual" is recommended, but I don't think they turn away people with tickets who are wearing their rasslin' shirts and jorts.

It is a travesty that they ignore his legendary series of matches with Hogan in Australia in 2009.

Oh well, I hope Flair being inducted again means that Gunner will get to wear two rings now.

Hey look, here's TNA's approval!

CHARLOTTE, NC – (March 27, 2012) International celebrity the Nature Boy® Ric Flair is set to become the only wrestler in history to be inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame twice. Flair’s dominant 1980s wrestling group, the Four Horsemen, known to be the greatest in ring performers of all time, will be granted their seat in the Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Miami, FL on March 31st, the day before Wrestlemania XXVIII. Flair will be inducted along-side fellow members of the Four Horsemen: Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, and J.J. Dillon.

The news of Flair’s second induction was followed by a firestorm of controversy. Questions flew about whether Flair would attend the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony as he is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action (TNA)
Wrestling. Understanding what a huge honor this is for Flair, TNA is graciously supporting him in the decision to attend the Hall of Fame ceremony alongside his fellow inductees. “Being inducted once was one of the greatest accomplishments of my career, so I’m humbled and honored to be recognized again. I wouldn’t miss the ceremony for the world,” says Flair.

TNA President Dixie Carter says, “We are proud of Ric’s many accomplishments and contributions he has made to the world of professional wrestling and beyond. We wish to congratulate him on yet another honor he truly deserves.”

Flair, a 16-time World Heavyweight Champion, was inducted individually into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008. On becoming a two-time inductee his agent Melinda Morris Zanoni of Legacy Talent and Entertainment says, “We are all so proud to be watching Ric continue to make history. There will never be an athlete more deserving of wearing two Hall of Fame rings than Ric Flair.”

No word yet as to what TNA got in exchange for allowing this. (Also, I still don't see anything saying "being on TV" or "being on the stage"; I don't believe this means anything, but I reserve the right to be totally correct if it turns out it does.)

Crazy idea: TNA lets Flair show up for the HoF, WWE lets Cole do play-by-play for Lockdown.

Cena has a one-time match on Impact. Knowing TNA, they wouldn't promote it ahead of time, have him wrestle Gunnar, and have Cena win clean in 60 seconds.

Perhaps TNA's only requirement was that WWE put on a Lockdown-esque PPV so people would stop griping about an all-cage match show?

I'd be for this. Aries vs. Morrison could be great.

Honestly, this is simply the right thing for TNA to do. They have Flair now, and this accolade only boosts again his commodity, which benefits them. Allowing him to appear makes them look gracious.

That's a good idea. Though, with as much as John Morrison (RIP) has been appearing on Z True Long Island Story lately, I am starting to suspect that he'll be feuding with Ryder after Mania.

Finally got the email:

WWE would like to welcome you to celebrate The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. In the tradition of this momentous occasion, WWE hopes that you will join them in creating a special atmosphere for their inductees and attendees. The WWE staff and management request that you follow a few simple requests...

In an effort to show respect to the WWE Superstars and Hall of Fame Inductees, WWE asks that there be no chants or cat calls from the audience during the presentations.

Join in the celebration and dress your best! Business casual attire is suggested. Thank you in advance for your assistance in creating a special evening.
