OK, I'll say it. The woman's division has been kicking all sorts of ass lately.

Trish/Jazz has gotten to be really good. They're doing innovative spots, have good psychology, and are generally working great together. Add in some T&A within the context of the match and it's gold.

Jazz/Molly was also pretty good, and Jackie and Ivory can be counted on to provide good matches too. But the Trish/Jazz thing is really what's making the woman's division click. Here's hoping they give them a little more of an angle to work with. More than just "you're hot and I'm not, so fuck you" that seems to be the standard woman's angle.

Anyway, when the woman's wrestling sucks (or even when it's decent) us smarks tend to really jump all over it, so now that it's been good lately I think we owe it some props.

I wouldn't mind if they axed the womens' division completely. BUT...the Trish/Jazz match last night was actually decent, and decent wrestling is at a premium in the WWF these days, so there you go.

Well, Trish was still wearing the brace on her hand that was "injured" by Jazz so at least that part of the storyline hasn't been dropped.

I was wondering why Trish was wrestling last night when it seemed simple enough to set her up for the babyface win in Toronto. The DQ just adds fuel to the eventual blowoff.

Just to pick nits, was it just me, or did Trish's STF end up being just an F? It looked like both of Jazz's legs were flopping around freely by the time the ref jumped in.

I was just going to start a thread in praise of the women's match last night. Jazz is cool, but I'm very, very impressed with Trish these days. She looks innocent and cuddly, I guess, and her build is certainly not scary, but she's starting to come off as a "pushed to the edge crazy bitch" type character, which is...A GOOD THING*
Last night, Trish getting DQed was great. She needs that kind of edge...she certainly doesn't have the studly body that Jazz has, but Trish can keep her sex appeal and be crazy. Kinda like Sable, I guess, but Sable was always a sucky wrestler. Trish is actually getting way better.
When the match ended and Trish was sneering at Jazz from the ramp in her bra, holding her injuring hand up and spitting, she looked VIOLENT. That was cool.
I know, the hand was there for the flop-out, but that's...A GOOD THING*

I don't want the WWF to get rid of the women's division. I just wish all the women in the WWF could show as much improvement as Trish has in the last year or so. The match last night was solid and the crowd was into it. If the women keep having matches like that the divison could end up going somewhere after the split.

They actually have gotten the Women's division over. Maybe this was a test for the cruiser division. I do wish we didn't have to see Trish/Jazz EVERY week though. I know Ivory can actually wrestle, so when does she get to become part of this?

Trish was trained at the same school as Edge and Christian, so she's got the skills. It's just a matter of being allowed to show them, which seems to be the case lately.

I guess Vince's WWF will have the women and Flair will have the Cruisers. Not a bad trade off.

Those two matches mentoined, but have been better I admit, but i'm still not impressed. And three wrestlers does not make a division.

I'll buy that EITHER side will have the cruisers when I see it, and not a minute before then. It's been mentioned and teased too many times without a damn thing to show for it.

As for Trish/Jazz, while I wasn't on the edge of my seat watching it, I'll take a HUNDRED matches like that over a Torrie/Stacy "match". If I see women who can execute basic moves well, I'm all for it; if I want to see cleavage and semi-trained women rolling around pulling each other's hair, I'll turn on Jerry Springer.

The typical WWF women's formula is indeed one attractive face, one monster heel, and usually one or two jobbers for the face and heel to squash. Molly would currently be the Rockin' Robin of 2002, I suppose.

I agree that the Trish/Jazz match was one of the best womens matches I have ever seen. And that was great seeing Trish get the "evil bitch" role back with her DQ. That was unexpected and was a great ending to a great match. Trish has got to have the best combination of looks and talent womens wrestling has ever seen, IMHO.

I still think a monster womens stable would be cool. Maybe have Trish team up with a couple others (Terri and Molly? -The Blonde Bombshells?) and take Jazz out, doing some run-in beatdowns. Jazz has been a good monster heel for awhile, but a monster stable would be even better.

I can only assume that you've never watched any women's wrestling from Japan. The attractiveness quotient is obviously subjective (we all have our own diverse tastes), but as far as talent and wrestling ability go, it's an absolute no-brainer.

In the US, I think women's matches are about as relevant as midget wrestling used to be during the 70s and 80s. Even if there are occasionally good matches I can't help but see it as a novelty.

I don't think that analogy works very well, for womens wrestling has been around a lot longer than midget wrestling. It has always had some sort of credibility and is not supposed to be a total laugh show. And if they are getting better and more exciting, then why not give them more credit?

Trish is becoming (or is already) awsome. She bumps and sells better then 90% of the men.

Too bad one of the least talented women in the division is the most over. Lita sucks but the Lita sheep are so brainwashed that they only support her.

Maybe I'll get flamed for this one... but what about Lita? I really think once she gets past the Hardyz' interference role, she could make a good wrestler with time. She just needs to add more to her arsenal than that Litacanrana. She's not all that bad and could make a sold addition to a decent women's division. And Nidia is still a possibility, again with time. I haven't been much of a women's div. fan, but the possibility is there for the WWF to have a decent one. But we know Vince's track record for ruining things that have wonderful potential...

Actually, from what I understand the WWF is really dissapointed with Nidia (hey, you can't have TWO Mavens guys) and I've even heard that a few people in the TE buisness wished they'd picked up Taylor instead because Nidia's just not picking things up in OVW. Of course I've never seen her wrestle, so I guess I don't have the first hand to tell you if that's true.

I think that Lita COULD be viable as a women's wrestler, but she relies (much like her compatriots the Hardyz) too much on highspots. If she would stick to, and try to pick up some fundimentals like Trish has done (and learns to throw a punch), and only stick the highspots in where appropriate, then I don't see why she couldn't be a viable women's wrestler.

Trish is getting very good, and Jazz is already there. Ivory and Jackie are good.

I think that Molly has a tendancy to be underated by a lot of people. In a year or two, she might be the best worker in the bunch.

I've honestly thought, in the past, that Stacey could be a fair-decent wrestler if she applied herself. She's genuinely athletic and probably has better psychology than Trish at this point. But she seems to be content with valeting and catfighting so good for her I guess.

I don't think many underrate Molly. In fact I believe everybody is very high on her skills. It's just they are hardly being used. Not as Mona/Miss Madness in WCW and not as Molly..

Stacy *shrug* she escorts the dudleyz and shows her ass on the apron. I don't know if that is in-ring psychology.
And other than she can show her long legs off very well I haven't seen that much athletics of her that impressed me.
