TO CELTICS: Wally Szczerbiak, Michael Olowokandi, Dwayne Jones and a future protected 1st round pick

TO TIMBERWOLVES: Ricky Davis, Marcus Banks, Mark Blount, Justin Reed and two future 2nd round picks

In short, I'd like to thank the Celtics for lowering their ranks and ensuring that Artest and the Kings are able to roll over them tomorrow while we still have the NBA League Pass Free Preview. ;-)

Celts and Wolves play here on Monday! That should be fun as well.

Unreal! A few years ago, I'd have thought that Szczerbiak would have been untouchable and a future franchise guy. Between dumping him and the low-post presence of 'Kandi and letting Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell take off, Minnesota's really banking on Kevin Garnett to carry this franchise. Boston really got the better of this deal.

PA & Dubay just got off the phone with Wally. He and 'kandi are on a plane right now to Boston. Szerbiak said Monday is going to be real weird coming into Target Center wearing a Celtics jersey, but to make his day even MORE interesting, his wife is scheduled to have a c-section at noon to bring their second daughter into the world. What a day.

Just so long as Artest doesn't try to pull Pierce's shorts off again ...

Maybe, just maybe this will provide the opportunity for the long dreamt of day when the Celtics get under the salary cap. Isiah Thomas is desperate to do anything, package Wally and Raef Lafrentz's hideous contract to the Knickerbockers for Penny Hardaway and Antonio Davis. With the Candi man being in his walk year and Hardaway and Davis being in the last year of their contracts, that would mean only Pierce and Scalabrine would have contracts of any value. Of course, if Ainge had any common sense over the summer, it would only be Pierce who would have a contract of any value.

Be nice CRZ. I'm going to the game tonight so if you're good, I might make up a sign with a big "W" on it and hold it up if the camera is on me.

I think for that deal to happen, the c's would probably have to send their 1st rounder this year, plus either the one they got from Minny or the cleveland #1 in 2007. Then again, Isiah loves to trade for long-term contracts. Maybe it could be a straight up Wally/Raef for Penny/A.Davis?

Apparently Wally wasn't even supposed to play, but:

Status Alert: Szczerbiak unexpectedly made his Celtics debut Friday night. He arrived at the arena just before the game began and was not planning to play, but put on a Celtics uniform only because he didn't have a suit that would meet the NBA's dress code. (Jan 28) (From ESPN.com)

Kandi's best quality is his expiring contract.

As a former Hemodialysis Technician, I can tell you, those old coots get angry REAL quick. They're usually miserable pricks, which I can understand, spending 3 days a week, 4 hours or more a day, and a dialysis center is a pain in the ass.
