What the hell? That was they main reason I wanted this. They also cut out the botched attempt by Jericho & Christian at the top-rope butterfly suplex. Not for the crowd's reaction to the Brock/Goldberg match, not for the hall of fame clips, not for the ***** main event.....but for Ultimo Dragon slipping on the stage? Wow.

Awesome DVD, i really dug the Mania of WrestleMania, and they kept in the Drowning Pool song, which is a good thing :D. well worth the 25 bucks.

| #5 Posted on 28.4.04 1508.51 | Instant Rating: 6.75 | The only main crowd reaction edit I caught on the Brock/Goldberg match was that the "Boring" and "This Match Sucks" chants was pretty much edited out completely. I didn't watch the entire match (just couldn't make it through the whole thing again), but for the first half, I didn't hear either of those chants at all. All the "You Sold Out" and "Goldberg Sucks" and the "Na Na Na Na Goodbye" chants were there.
One other edit I noticed was during the Kane/UT match. During the live feed, the cameras missed the UT situp after the Kane chokeslam as they were on a closeup of Kane's face and cut to the wide shot right after the situp. Here, it cuts to the wide shot right before UT sits up.
I'm almost tempted to watch the VHS of the live show next to the DVD to see what else was edited. Almost.

If wrestling were a "contest" they would mess up in matches, no? So why not leave slip ups in as long as when they redo the move it doesn't look too obvious. I didn't think it was too bad.
Here's a question, did they edit out Goldberg falling during his entrance at Summerslam? | asteroidboy

Those motherfuckers and their revisionist history. That was one of the main selling points of the whole DVD! So what if the match sucked and the crowd called them on it?

At least they left everyone's entrance music alone (aside from the Dudley Boyz')

I prefer to tape the PPV event the night it airs, that way I have all the slips that WWE cuts out. I know its giving up quality but to me its about having what actually happened and not what WWE wants us to think happened.
On a side note, WWE has a long history of doing this, going back to the Coliseum Video days. CV would edit matches, segments and anything else you could think of. Wrestlemania 5 was over 4 hours when it aired on PPV, Coliseum Video version was just over 3 hours. | Jerichoholic247

on Disc 2...go to the match listing for HHH v. HBK v. Benoit...and right click twice to get a WM Recall

| #11 Posted on 28.4.04 1951.39 | Instant Rating: 5.64 | I learned about the early WrestleManias going over 3 hours when I was watching them in preperation for WrestleMania XX. I put on WrestleMania V (the PPV version, not the coliseum version) at 2:00 and the damn thing didn't end until something like 6:00. Same thing happened with VI and VII. I guess PPV time limits didn't get strict until around WrestleMania VIII.
Anyway, I was flipping through the WrestleMania XX DVD today, and aside from the edits, it's actually a pretty damn good set. Well worth the 30 bucks I shelled out for it.
Swatkid84, I too tape the PPVs, but I usually buy them on DVD when they come out because I tape the things in EP mode, so therefore, by the time a year rolls around, the video-quality usually isn't anything to write home about. I still keep the PPVs on tape as well, though. So, if I ever want to watch WrestleMania XX, I'll probaby put in the DVD. But if, for some reason, I want to see the version where Ultimo Dragon slips on the ramp and the fans chant "This match sucks" at Goldberg/Lesnar, I always have the tape.

I actually bought the VHS copy of Wrestlemania XX today. I did get to watch it last month, but I still wanted a tape so I could own the great matches on the card. The VHS of Wrestlemania XX is only THREE HOURS, and according to a disclaimer on the back, "Does not include event in its entirety." Did the same thing happen with the VHS versions for Wrestlemania X-7, XVIII, and XIX?
I haven't watched the tape yet, but judging by the match listing on the back, here's four of the matches that have been edited out:
Molly vs. Victora for the Women's title WWE Tag Team Title Match WWE World Tag Team Title Match Cruiserweight Open
I don't know what else was edited as far as backstage stuff and the hall of fame ceremony goes.

When Shawn went for the superkick in the final moments of the triple threat match, Benoit ducks and hoists Michaels over the top rope to the floor. When I watched it on DVD today it occured to me that this could have been scripted for a reason.
Benoit lasted through 29 other guys and 62 minutes in the Royal Rumble to get his title shot. Michaels signed Benoit's contract and stole his shot. It struck me that Benoit was "eliminating" Michaels from the match, and shoving it in his face that that is exactly how he earned his title shot: by eliminating others over the top rope.
Again, it could've just been a cool spot, but it spoke volumes to me.

You still have a few days, so hurry out and get it now! I got the last copy on the shelf at the store by me. $20 is an awesome price for a DVD set like this. The case is beautiful, especially the WM timeline underneath the discs. I'm a sucker for good packaging. Oh, and the event is good too, especially when you can skip past the low points.
