So I have a friend (with much disposable income, it appears) looking for a laptop and he wants to have wireless broadband internet service. He's narrowed it to AT&T, Sprint or Verizon. I've heard horrid things about Sprint, but not much on the other two.
Any W's have recommendation or experience with this that they can share? Even a link to reviews would be appreciated since I can't find any except the vendor sites themselves. Thanks.
AT&T, if it's the EDGE service, is slower than shit. Seriously, it's terrible. Verizon's EVDO is nice and fast, and the coverage is great. That's where I'd go if it were my money.

As of today, companies using CDMA technology (Sprint and Verizon) have faster internet. AT&T's and T-Mobile's Edge is similar to old school dialup. Those companies haven't gotten their 3G technology rolled out nationwide yet.
It doesn't take much reading of recent news stories to figure out that avoiding Sprint is a good idea.
