Originally posted by Scar I still get the notification that there are critical updates, but when I try to get them I receive the message:
"Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page. The Windows Update servers are temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." .. I'm using Windows 98.
It sounds like your trying to use the automatic update feature? I don't think that ever worked well for me on 98. Have you tried it manually? (Tools->Windows Update in IE) Or try: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/ph/1139?sid=1020 At the very worst you can probably ask MS for a service pack CD if all else fails.
That's how I have always (in the past) upgraded hard drive sizes. And I needed to place a boot.ini file with the appropriate info in the root of the drive and everything was dandy. Microsoft knowledge base.
