I got the day off work today and saw Roger Federer absoulutely cream Lleyton Hewitt in straight sets. Hewitt fought back towards the end but couldn't answer to Federer's superior talent. The second semi is Roddick - Johansson, due to be played straight after Federer - Hewitt, has been delayed due to our legendary English weather. I've got Johansson to win that one down at the bookies, good odds as well. It may not be the smartest move and is probably rooted in my deep dislike for Mr. Roddick, but I've got the feeling Andy won't be too keen to get another lesson in tennis from Federer anyway.
The womens side is also shaping up nicely, rather like a certain Ms. Sharapova, who by the way was knocked out yesterday by a seemingly reincarnated Venus Williams. Great match though. The other finalist is blast from the past Linsey Davenport, who last won Wimbeldon 6 years ago. She was down a set against the rather masculine looking Amelie Mauresmo but pulled 2 sets back over 2 days to take the match.
So overall the tournament has been fantastic so far and roll on Sunday and the finals.
