Haven't missed and election since 1976. Although AWA has accused me of wasting a vote or two.

If you live in Ohio, I'd just like to pimp the "No on 4, Yes on 5" vote, although I have a feeling that Issue 5 is going to go down.

I voted at 7:15 this morning. It is sad that when we get 50% of eligible voters to actually vote, we think it is good. We don't all take this as seriously as we should.
Also - it was the first time I had ever seen my own name on a ballot before. It was pretty cool. And the fact that I was running unopposed nearly secures victory!

This draw the line to connect the arrow voting is really tough to screw up. If you want anectodal evidence of voter turnout: Went at the same time on primary day and the machine I feed my ballot into was around 70. Today it was at 220.

Kinky Friedman is insane. And an idiot. Perry's gonna keep his job, but Bell will be close. Kinky doesn't stand a chance, and rightfully so.

| #16 Posted on 7.11.06 1143.25 | Instant Rating: 4.79 | I've voted in every primary/general election since I turned 18, including two completely meaningless presidential primaries (I think my choices in 2004 were Kerry or Kucinich by that point - I voted for Dean anyway), so damn doubly, hell, triply sure made it out to vote for Casey (or, to be more realistic about it, to vote against Santorum).
I got there about 10:00, I was #79. It's a comparatively small precinct so that's actually pretty good.
Now, with these new-fangled electronic voting machines, the real question should be "Did It Count?".

I am running opposed for a third term on the Budget Committee for the Town of China. I tend to be the voice of reason on the committee of seven, six of whom are usually bitching that we spend too much money and those pesky kids don't need new books, they were fine for me when they were written in 1956.
I was #24 on the voting machine counter.

| #20 Posted on 7.11.06 1409.04 | Instant Rating: 5.63 | I voted a little bit later than originally planned because somebody really wanted a nap. I ended up voting at about 12:15. Turnout at our precinct was really high. I had to wait for about 15 minutes to vote which is by far the longest I've ever had to wait at this precinct. I was voter number 471 in our precinct which means, IIRC, that turnout in our precinct is already higher than it was in the last midterm election. I don't know what that means or who it favors, but it's certainly an interesting anecdotal piece of evidence.
