The W - Pro Wrestling - Will Triple H cost Shawn Michaels the match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26: I I I Made It? This thread has 52 referrals leading to it
There has been a lot of disturbing groundswell in the Observer and Torch about the finish for Undertaker vs. Michaels being Triple H costing Shawn the match, because it
1) turns Triple H heel with major impact, something he's been wanting to do for a couple years,
2) preserves the streak yet gives Michaels the out of losing two years in a row,
3) gets out of the retirement stipulation since fans will want Michaels to come back for revenge,
4) pays off the superkicks at Survivor Series and Rumble and the matches Shawn cost DX against Show Miz,
and 5) explains HHH-Sheamus abdicating world title billing and HHH sneaking down the card to re-emerge as the biggest story coming out of the show. also foreshadowed by Sheamus' promo in which he said HHH used to be the kind of guy who would stab his best friend in the back to get the to the top.
I have started this thread so that The Internet will keep predicting that this is the finish and thereby require it to be changed.
No. The internet is barely right about these things nowadays and when they are they bitch it's 'predictable'. This match needs a clean finish then HBK coming back as a heel whining HHH didn't help him.
Would rather see them have Hunter interfere contribute to a Michaels victory, as it would cost Taker the streak and it would cause Michaels to still have doubt in his mind as to whether he really could have been the one to end the streak. Doing it that way provides several outlets they could work off of that drives them through SummerSlam rather than going the obvious route.
I'd rather see Shawn lose clean, then come out on Raw for the retirement speech. HHH interrupts as he tends to do, but instead of bringing out Horsemen and babyfaces, he just whacks Michaels a lot with a hammer.
What would happen if, just spitballing here, HHH came out and somehow caused a DDQ/DDCO or something like that where there is no official decision? HBK doesn't lose, UT doesn't lose, and HHH gets two huge feuds to work with.

Michaels wanted it no dq/count-out, Taker agreed on the condition Michaels put up his career. Still say the streak needs an asterisk for Taker not being on the Mania card in '94, and his teaming up with Nathan Jones at Mania in '03.
The Showstopper drives Shawn to compete, no matter what he has to do. He wants to be the best, to steal the spotlight, even at the risk of friendships and his career.
I want him to lose because he wants to be the highlight, and that should backfire against a guy who simply wants to win. He goes for the holy-shit move, and he crashes and burns. Taker pins.
If Triple H wants to turn heel by ruining a match, he should turn against Cena and join Vince/Batista. That makes for ANOTHER Cena/Hunter angle, you say. Not if Vince moves Hunter to SmackDown to keep out of Cena's grasp.

My biggest problem with Undertaker winning is that there's no reason for Shawn to not be trying again at Wrestlemania 27 and/or go completely insane at losing. (Unless Michaels actually retires for realz, no takes-back, of which I'm not holding my breath.) For the sake of closure, I'm kind of rooting for a Michaels win.

Interesting idea. And perhaps to "avenge" his buddy's loss to the Undertaker.
No. Wrestlemania is not called HHHMania. He can stay in the mid card for one year, it won't kill him. Shawn wins clean. Regardless, all three are rumored to be taken time off anyway. So, by the time we get an actual match out of any of the combinations of HHH/HBK or Taker/HHH will probably be SummerSlam and people won't really care. The guys at Torch and Observer need to shut it since all it will do is screw the fans out of a great match. This is the money match that has been advertised heavily not Bret/Vince or Batista/Cena or Edge/Jericho. Give the fans what they want a good clean finish considering its $55 for the damn thing. Play screwy finish with Cena/Batisa or Edge/Jericho.
Sing this special song. It's just for you. At this point I don't think there is any reason for Undertaker to lose at WM ever, to anyone. If Flair and the entire 51st couldn't do it, and Hunter didn't do it, I don't see anyone doing it.
This'll give Shawn a good amount of time off, maybe until someone (Orton? Taker himself? Both? Kofi?) needs him against an uberheel HHH/Sheamus/Batista/Legacy team.
Hey that'll make for a kickass Survivor Ser-- ooh. Awkward. Awkward.

I still could see Cena do it, but he's the only one that comes in mind!
Yes, I'm back! I know, I said I would never ever watch that crap again, but ... I just can't live without it, I guess.

I'm sorry, but according to previous threads about the efficacy of the Internet and/or Internet Wrestling Community (or IWC), we decided the IWC made up somewhere around 0.0001% of the fan-base/audience.
Thus, their opinions, predictions and smart-mark jeers were entirely negligible to pro wrestling, as well as WWE and its operations.
Originally posted by WpobCould they go double count out? Similar to Rocky II except no one gets up? UT moves to 17-0-1 and Michales has a somewhat moral victory.
Could not think of a possibly more unsatisfying result for essentially the biggest match at the biggest PPV of the year. And some might call it the biggest match of either wrestler's very, very long career.
Michaels already retired Ric Flair I really don't want to see him end the streak too. I would like to see Michaels just man up, put on a good match and lose clean.
However, from a business standpoint having HHH cost Michaels the match makes a lot of sense, because you get the big angle afterwards while a clean Taker/Michaels finish really doesn't carry over to much.
Taker needs to keep the streak alive at this point, Michaels isn't going to retire and can probably live with an asterick next to the loss and Helmsley has always been better as a heel and really needs the turn now that Orton is going tweener. It's the smart move on the WWE's part, I don't see why they wouldn't do it.
UT needs to win clean. And the story needs to be told that HHH and HBK wanted a different ending, but Austin started taping up his fists to get the point across
Good Rumor Man. Find out who is reading, right? Hoff's pic shows up in someone's sig and the next thing you know he's a guest host. Go figure

Yeah.. and they're honestly heavy enough that while I am among the biggest Perfect marks to ever live, I can understand _why_ he might be off TV until the split.. though I think they ought to just have snipers shoot Steph and give her time to him.
