For the past few months, the WWF/E has been pretty consistent in placing 4 matches from each show on PPV, thus providing for an 8 match card. However, looking at potential/likely matches this month, it appears they will need to add at least one additional match from each show, just due to the fact that most of the potential matches have guys who can't last 10 minutes in the ring. A look at some of the potential matches:

Brock Lesnar vs. Big Slug: If it goes over 7 minutes, the crowd will become extremely impatient. Unlike the Rumble where they had the Rumble match to allow a short match, or Survivor Series where they had the Elimination Chamber to allow the sub 5 minute Heyman interference filled match, this match appears to need both guys to go it on their own.

Kevin Nash vs. Triple H: Its doubtful Trip of 2000 could carry Nash for 10 minutes. Nash has not shown he can work a singles match, let alone a world title match that usually would require 15 to 20 minutes. Anything over 5 minutes and a Nash injury is extremely likely.

Sable vs. Torrie: Since its doubtful they could string this along until July, and since Vince would believe that a Playmate match would sell PPV's, this will probably be on Judgement Day. 4 Minute Maximum for this crap.

Mr. America vs. Piper or O'Haire: Against O'Haire, it might be able to be stretched to 10 minutes. However, its doubtful Piper will be able to not piss off people by July, so if Vince wants Hogan/Piper, Judgement Day is the time to do it. After seeing Piper against Rikishi, its obvious he can't go any longer. Anything over 5 minutes would be a disaster.

Warm Beer vs. Insert Opponent or Gauntlet: Another example of a guy who over 5 minutes will be extremely exposed.

Los Guerreros vs. Team Angle (Ladder Match): This match should be able to go 20-25 minutes. However, it still is expecting a lot from a pair of rookies to get into a gimmick match like this for a long period of time.

Flair vs. Michaels: Considering its Charlotte, it'll probably be on the card. The really sad thing is they'll be hoping for a guy in his mid 50's and a guy with a broken back to somehow both be at their peak and be able to go 20 plus minutes in order to cover for the shorter matches that the top of the card will cause.

Now, unless Kurt Angle is able to miraculously recover to the point of being able to work a 30 minute match with Benoit to cover for the top card guys being exposed after 5 minutes, this card will be digging deep into the undercard on both shows in order to provide a 3 hour show. But, then again, beginning in June they'll be going into Rodney Mack territory to fill out the split PPV's.

Several points:

1. Goldberg looks like he'll be going against Jericho right now. If anyone can drag 15 minutes out of him he can.

2. "anything over 5 minutes and a Nash injury is extremely likely"

You're a doctor? Cool. Seriously some of this Nash bashing is getting way out of hand. I remember a few months back everyone was telling us that Trips was a cripple yada yada and yet hes been wrestling healthy and pulling out good matches consistantly for a few months now.

Regardless, the 2 of them should easy be able to go for 15 minutes and at the end of the day it appears Nash is only really there to make HHH look stronger for the up-coming Goldberg title win.

3. Show vs Lesnar could go ten minutes without any great difficulty. Particularly if they decide to run with A-Train interference at some stage.

4. Mr. America vs Piper/O'Haire: They did seem to be teasing a Hogan/Piper feud pre Backlash, and assuming the rumors or true (re Hogan is Mr America) then this could happen. However O'Haire would seem the more likely opponent with Piper as manager, and Hogan has shown he still has it in him to pull out decent-to-good 15 minute matches recently.

5. Flair vs Michaels: Cant see it. Much more likely to have Booker vs Christian based on Monday night. And was I the only one that thought they were teasing a Michaels heel turn on Monday? "He's a sitting duck out there" just seemed a smidge underhanded for a face. Maybe just me.

6. Los Guerreros vs Team Angle: Should be great and could easily go 25 minutes. Crowds tend to get rigt into ladder matches and these two teams should be more than capable of delivering.

7. Sable vs Torrie: Ok you win. Any moe than 30 second and we're in trouble

But you've still got Mattitude, RVD&Kane, Cena, Rhyno, Benoit, Morley&Storm, Dudleys, Hurricane, Jazz, Trish, Victoria and others that aren't on your theoretical card so I wouldnt be panicking just yet.

You'd think they'd make matches like HHH/Nash and Lesnar/Show shorter so they wouldn't expose their weaknesses but Paul Heyman's sitting at home so they'll each go way longer then they should. Lesnar/Cena went about 7 minutes too long. Nash CAN'T EVEN JOG! Remember that HHH/Hogan snoozefest last year? At least Hogan was over and got the crowd into his comebacks but more weeks then not, the crowd hasn't cared about Nash.

Maybe Benoit will be on the card to settle his feud with The FBI? What did he do to deserve that? They're not even funny like the old FBI gimmick. They're just The Mamalukes.

I would like to see them do Flair/Michaels in Charlotte ONLY if they give Flair mic time over the next couple weeks to build it up. If they wanna do these types of matches, stick them in the midcard like this as a 'Special Attraction' instead of making them the main focus of the shows (Hogan/Vince/Piper).

I can probably see a Benoit/Rhyno/Undertaker vs. the FBI match added, as well as some type of bout involving Kane/Van Dam/the Dudleys/Chief Morley

Remember, Nash has worked 2 matches since late 2000: The 10 man match where he injured himself, and the 6 man match at Backlash. His knees are shot, he's had arm injuries, and he's torn a quad; with that combination and the lack of ring time he's had in the past 2 and a half years, 5 minutes in a singles match might be generous for how long it would take Nash to break down. And the real scary thing is, he was awful in the ring before the quad and the arm injury (Summer of Suck '99/Sid Classics 2000/It's a work, no its a shoot crap from 2000); if he's left in the ring for a long period of time now, he could hit depths that Nathan Jones might not be able to achieve.

Nash had a good cage match with Booker T in 2000 but it only went like 8 minutes.

Can anyone name any good Nash singles matches from his WCW run? There's no memorable ones that stick out to me.

I like the idea of both of those 6 man tags....you could feasibly have a possible Lance Storm turn face due to frustration with Chief Morley....a new, intense Storm would be an interesting spin as he desperately needs something new

Sorry...i am a huge Storm mark

See, I'd go with Jericho/Christian v. Booker/Goldberg and save the Jericho v. Goldberg money match until the June RAW PPV.

Only problem is Vince has to be betting on him to pull a huge number against (in all likelihood) Nash at the June PPV, where he would win the title, thus setting up a 2 month build to SummerSlam where he defends against Trip.
As for Booker, if he's going to be pushed back down the card again, they might as well put him with Goldust, because at the very least you then put him in a spot where the people will still care, and he can be made available to move back up the card in the fall.

Nash is an embarassment. His "walk-in" on Raw was hilarious for all the wrong reasons. He made that whole segment so stupid, I mean really, who couldn't run away from a guy who's top speed is a power walk?

Christian is full of little ironies such as that. He points to his waist even when he doesn't have a championship. Plus, he's a pretty much a glorified jobber but has arguably the coolest entrance with pyro in the WWE right now.
