At this point, Wilco may very well make a better Neil Young album than Neil Young, which is the best way to describe what this sounds like. Although this CD seems a bit more polished than Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and doesn't have as many of the sonic crackles, but it's still a good effort, although having two songs going over the 10 minute mark is a little excessive and neither song really merits it and could have been cut to 5-6 minutes each without losing anything, including the EIGHT MINUTE strain of white noise between tracks 11 and 12. There's being arty and then there's being indulgant, and that would be the line.
So far, I'm liking parts of it, although it's worth noting that with every Wilco album up until now it takes me a few listens to really get into it.
Thanks for embedding the entire album and not just the 2112 composition. The second "side" contains some great music too, but is usually lost when compared to the grand scope of 2112. I haven't listened to this in years.
