VC North America (Janaury 7, 2008) - StarTropics (NES, 500 points) - The King of Fighters '94 (Neo Geo, 900 points)
Wii North America (January 8, 2008) - Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law - Luxor: Pharoah's Challenge - Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
----- Harvey Birdman looks like a fun rental. As for the Virtual Console, I bought a Wii Points card today to get StarTropics and Bubble Bobble (or as the Japanese call it, "Bubbaru Bobbaru").
Was StarTropics the game where you had to have a code that was in the instruction booklet or something like that? For some reason I recall a game I needed a code for and couldn't find it sometimes. Gonna get this game for sure.
Midway through the game, the player becomes stuck on an island, and the only way to continue on is by entering a three digit code into the Sub-C's computer. However, in order to access the code, the player was required to lightly wetten a specific page in the game's instruction manual, revealing it. Naturally, if the instruction manual had been lost, damaged or otherwise rendered unusable, then the only way to continue was through frustrating experimentation until the proper code was input: 747.
How Wikipedia says they're going to pull off the trick on the VC:

For the Virtual Console release, the letter is included in digital form with an image of a letter and a bucket of water at the bottom. When the player clicks on one of the images, the letter dips into the bucket and the code is revealed.

We'll see. That was added by an anonymous user (whose IP address corresponds with a Texas ISP) who has never edited anything on wikipedia before, and gave no source. Could be true, but couild very well be false.

VC Japan (January 8, 2008) - Yie Ar Kung Fu (Famicom, 500 points) - Genpei Toumaden Kannoni (Samurai Ghost; PC Engine, 600 points)
---
Yie Ar Kung Fu is awful but might still be worth 500 points.
DS releases coming as soon as I remember to check the list - the site hid the list "behind the break!" which I can't access since my RSS feed isn't blocked, but the actual site (which is behind the break) IS blocked. Boo. Does that make sense? It doesn't matter. As for the games, here's a hint - there's nothing worthwhile.
