| #1 Posted on 10.4.03 2250.40 | Instant Rating: 2.44 | What order are the Wieners that are logged in list in? Is it the length of time that people have been logged in, or in the order that people registered, or something else entirely?
EDIT: Never mind, I figured this one out. It appears to be in order of how long it's been since your last post, with the person making the most recent post at the front.
A related question that I suddenly thought of: If I don't log out when I'm done, does it say I'm online the whole time until I come to the site the next time, or is there a timer (i.e. no action from a user for a certain amount of time means remove from logged in Wieners list)?
EDIT: Why is it that the Wieners logged in is color-coded (relating to gender) while the Wieners listed as having the "last post" in each forum are all in yellow? Just laziness?

I asked about that once, in a different context. The drift is that, yes, there is a timeout-kinda mechanism that waits for (CRZ recalled) about 5 minutes from your last activity before you vanish from the list. | Cerebus

If you left it on overnight and didn't refresh the page in the morning, you were seeing your previous login.
If you left it on overnight and did refresh the page in the morning, you were seeing your new login.
If you logged out explicitly the night before and then used a bookmark to go to the page, you were seeing your new login.
Now, if you had explicitly logged out the night before and then loaded the page in the morning without logging in, and it still showed your userid, then that's something.
Do people actually "log out" of the Wienerboard? (I know I never do unless I'm on a public terminal or something)

But wouldn't that be cos it would still be on the same screen you left it on the night before, unless you had refreshed the page in which case that would count as activity. Or something.
I don't know. Computers make my head hurt.

I used to, for fear that I would "break something" by staying logged in for long periods of time. Now I know better.

Yeah, that's why I asked, because I couldn't think of any way to test it.
