| #4 Posted on 14.7.03 1019.47 | Patience, Merc. I'll live on my top 4 pitchers (the week after the break), and that should get me somewhere.
That being said, Guru, you've done a hell of a job getting up to the top. Let's see what happens the second half - out of you, me, and Palp, one of us should be able to catch Scorpions.

| #5 Posted on 14.7.03 1735.44 | I think I may do OK if I can somehow stop myself from signing Oliver Perez for a third go. Man, if I could just take his starts out...
The problem is he's 22 and I ~know~ he's going to be an amazing pitcher... so I keep falling back into the trap of starting him.
I've cut him again, so that he can throw the first no-hitter in Padres history

| #6 Posted on 14.7.03 1911.38 | I know my problem is depth. I'm one guy away from just renaming my team to The ICU* - it'd be apt. It's been my luck that Lawton would get hot, then get injured. WHoopee.
You can always sign Perez and just leave him benchwarming - that's more of the strategy I'll be taking second-half. Randy's gonna be back Sunday!
*Of course, that team's in first now, so what d'ya do, eh?

| #7 Posted on 14.7.03 1937.25 | BTW - Those are the stats from the Stat Tracker application. It runs in Java, and it gives you real time updates as the games are played. It was $8 for the season - which isn't bad considering I use it daily. Here's their sales pitch for it.
StatTracker™: $7.95 Get pitch-by-pitch updates from every stadium around the league in real time. While the games are being played, StatTracker™ gives you continuously updated numbers for each individual player and team in your league. Additionally, when you purchase the StatTracker™, you will receive real-time stats on all appropriate HTML game pages. (NOTE: Each owner wanting to access the StatTracker™ must purchase it individually).
It has really helped me out, because I have a lot of guys who don't start every day. Believe it or not, I could be even MORE games behind pace

| #8 Posted on 14.7.03 2241.21 | Damn... I didn't realize you were all the way up to SECOND. I'm just happy to be in the top 10, never mind 3rd in ERA. It's like Earl Weaver said about winning titles... except I'm a little lacking in the three-run homer department. (Maybe if I had room for it when I renamed my team... )
