Basically he's rattling on about how Bonds was a HOF player beforehand and it's unimportant either way because other players were on performance enhancing drugs.
Of course, Tim McCarver tries to cut that logic off, but Buck still sounds like he's a Bonds spokeperson.| Promote this thread! | | Big Bad

Fixed that for you. Locally, Joe is a godsend; his work on Cardinals radio was tremendous (the man can be quite hilarious,) and he's almost as good on local Cards' TV broadcasts.
But on Fox he's produced all to hell and comes off as a pompous ass. It's a shame that most of the nation hasn't heard the real Joe.

Really? Cause you coulda fooled me. I live in St. Louis and I hate the local Joe Buck as much as the national Joe Buck. Perhaps our difference of opinion centers on the fact that you're probably a Cards fan while I am not.

It probably depends on how much radio you got to listen to him on, especially back in the mid-to-late 90's with his father and Mike Shannon. He was the deal then, and it's shame he can't do radio anymore (though I like John Rooney better, anyway.)
He's less fun on the telly, though as I said I find him far more enjoyable on FSN Midwest than the national Fox, even if Al Hrbosky brings him down. The Cards need to show him the door and allow more Ricky Horton times.

If for nothing else, Dan doesn't do those "I needed somebody to fix my closet and they came and did it for me" commercials.
Not that Dan's commercials for Dobbs are much better. | Quezzy

If he has a stupid opinion, then it deserves to be mocked. Whether the opinion is in fact stupid, I leave as an exercise to the reader. |
