I think it's burnout. He already seems to be positioning himself for a radio job with the Sooners.

And add to the fact the sheep outnumber smarks by a probably 10 to 1 margin.

| #6 Posted on 21.6.02 2012.13 | I think Jim Ross is trying his best with what he has. He has had to deal with numerous talent crap over the past few months. I do think he is bitter since he really doesn't add anything to the business side of wrestling. He is still the greates play-by-play guy in wrestling just edging out Prof. Mike Tenay.

| #7 Posted on 21.6.02 2029.42 | It's also pretty easy to see the IWC as a bunch of people who think we know everything and therefore feel the need to expound endless theories on what is wrong and how to fix it.
Wait, that's pretty much what we are.
In any case, I wouldn't be surprised if JR and a lot of people inside the industry are pissed because we're trying to tell them how to do their jobs.
(Right or wrong is irrelevant here. It's quite easy to take that as a personal attack).

| #8 Posted on 21.6.02 2103.55 | I would infer from what Mistah Ross said that it is not the internet wrasslin' community as a whole that irks him, but the wrestling news sites that like to pass off gossip, insinuation, speculation and sometimes pure bullshit as news and spin everything that is true as negatively possible.
OMG! The Ratings are down by 0.3 this week WRESLITNG IS DEAD!!!!!! OMFG!!! THEY HAVE PERFECXTED HUMAN CLONING AND ARE BRINING ANDRE BACK TO LIFE!!!
sure, that's an exageration, and I held down shift to type the capitals, but dangit, that's what 1bob and its ilk seem like to me at times. Whereas slashwrestling, and sites like it, is spiffy due to the fact that opinion and whatnot aren't even attempted to be passed off as legit news... just opinion, and whatnot. Now, for a lame and innacurate analogy, if wrestling sites were tabloids: 1wrestling.com = National Enquirer (gossip rag) wheras slashwrestling = Weekly World News (100% pure entertainment, or maybe the onion, but that ain't a tabloid per se.) | BobHollySTILLRules

While I've never talked to the man, I get the feeling from what he writes that he isn't talking about fan sites or opinion sites when he writes about the internet.

I think JR's a riot, it just seems like he's personally got it in for smarks. And people who sit at home, drinking a beer saying "Well, he knew how to fall."
I'd give some examples, but I'm hungover.

I think WWE reads everything--I would bet you they have an employee whose job consists of reading things like this message board and glean the sentiments from it, write a memo and report it to JR, Vince, whoever.
However, when JR himself responds to the IWC, I think he's specifically referring to the "big" sites who benefit financially from controversy, dissention, and scandal in WWE. Like that open letter to the IWC...that wasn't meant for us here in Wienerville, that was for Meltzer, Keller, Ryder, et al.

What, is there anyone here trying to swerve our sentiments to the WWE party line with leading posts?

If there were do you really think anyone would admit to it?
And I agree with the general consensus: If there were an entire group of people who made a hobby out of trying to tell me how to do my job and coming >< this close to out and out calling me an irretrievable idiot... I'd be a little bitter too.
