In one of the wrestling threads, there are two posts with my name on them. They SOUND like me, and I could certinally believe that I wrote them (except for the fact that one is repeated, but that could be my stupidity.) However, they have my new icon, which I only put in last night, while they are much older...what's the deal?

The original version of this board code used whatever your current icon was no matter when you put in the message. Were you looking at messages from a few months' back, maybe?

Before I made a change to the board code, it always showed your current icon.
Then, somewhere back there (March 1?) I changed it so that your current icon would be stuck into the thread details when you posted.
So. What to do with the old threads that had no icons in them?
Basically, the code says:
If there is an icon stored in the thread then use it, otherwise...
If you have an icon now, show that icon (this was to emulate the old method) or else leave it blank.
I assume you didn't have an icon when you posted the thread, but you do now. That's why it is showing.
I love it when a plan comes together |
