I'm going to make a prediction, and that is, that mordecai within 6 months will be one of the most over guys on Smackdown, and remember, you read it here first

Much like people have seen Pre Smackdown Suzuki , we've seen pre -Smackdown Mordecai. He's been heavily pushed as main eventer in the system for a long time. Had one decent match with Joey Abs. And everything else has just been awfull. (I did like the neck work in the match with Rey Mysterio but between neck work spots Mordecai just looked lost).

No problem with big guys. The question is:

Why push this guy when nothing is being done with large guys who can actually work: Jindrak, Palumbo, Cade, A-Train. Nothing is being done with medium build guys who can go like Orlando Jordan.

Why push him when nothing was being done with large guys who can't actually work but can bump and sell; Heidenreich.

Heidenreich isn't on the level of any of those guys, and if people watched his pre-WWE stuff they would have known,

It looks like the WWE decided answer to these questions was to give up on the Mordecai project and send him back to OVW.

Except now what do you do with him? Have him vanish for three months, return and pretend he was never this religious psycho roaming around with a giant cross? Now THAT'S insulting the collective intelligence of the audience

Nope - he's probably just never going to be brought back. If they think he's THIS bad, which they must, then I don't think there's a real good chance we're going to see him again.

Do they think HE (Kevin Fertig) is that bad, or do they think the gimmick (Mordecai) is bad? I personally didn't have a problem with the wrestler himself.

Then what's the point in having him in OVW? Why not just release him altogether if he sucks THAT bad?

Look dudes, I don't work for WWE, I'm just assuming they must not think the world of him right now considering they sent him to OVW, which I think is fair. I also think it'll be hard to bring him back now unless they do the Mordecai character again, which is also awkward. If I were a betting man, I'd bet we won't see him again. Is that better? They've kept plenty of shitty guys in developmental before eventually releasing them before. One thing they DO do is generally give people time to come around.

Well, disregarding anything I might have said about the guy before (when I had only seen him in one squash match). He could use some work. I dont think the WWE should let him go however, if they actually work with him the gimmick might have a future.

Yeah, it's not like he was an evil dentist, or a cheap Nash rip-off that they tried to play off like the real thing.

Or for an alternate smartass answer: Reverend D'Von and Deacon Batista.

If you think the fans will care (or even remember) after two weeks, then you haven't watched wrestling long enough.

Slight difference being there was, what, seven years in between Issac Yankem and Kane removing his mask?

And Deacon Batista never had a personality besides a guy carrying around a collection box. Remove the collection box and you have current Batista. Again, a slight difference ;)

Okay, how about Bradshaw going from beer-swilling redneck bodyguard to millionaire manicure-loving tycoon? Or even the Undertaker going from undead zombie overlord to Harley-riding American badass and back again?

There's plenty of wrestlers who've drastically switched gimmicks. The fans eventually get used to whatever the new thing is as long as it works.

I wouldn't exactly call Bradshaw's drastic switch "working", as I'm sure ratings & buy-rates will soon attest to.

Yeah but they didn't nessecarily change personas, they were only tweaked slightly. What we're talking about here is to have Kevin Fertig come back under a completely different gimmick and personality. I for one hope that doesn't happen, and when they (the WWE) chooses to call him up again, they'll give the Mordecai character another go. I just don't want to see this end up as Wrestlecrap, because I dont believe its anywhere near the ballpark of the horribleness of some of the characters and angles on that site. There's a reason Waylon Mercy isn't on there, lets hope that if Mordecai isn't brought back, he'll follow suit of several great characters that unfortunately, just didn't work out
