Brian Pillman: Pillman was one of my first major exposures to prowrestling. I used to watch him all the time on Saturdays, Flyin' Brian was the man to me. (Maybe because I was a kid and we had the same first name..but none the less, he ruled!) Then I kind of lost touch with WCW wrestling for a while and BAM! Pillman's in the WWF! Total markout moment for me! Of course then came all the upleasant business..but to this day I still hold Pillman as one of my favorites.
Honorable mentions: -HBK -Foley -Raven -Bret Hart -Mr. Perfect -Benoit -Ted Dibiase -Jeff Jarrett -Chris Benoit -Old School Undertaker -And all sorts of other people! Damn I'm indecisive!!

So, WWF, if there was say, God forbid, a comet hitting the earth, or a nuclear holocaust, or chemical or biological attack, or a bomb, or the four horsemen of the Apolycolaspe come. All I have to do to survive is watch the WWF?

Only one guy fits that bill -- SUPER DELFIN.

Too bad WCW had to use him as the Steiners manager and make his last appearance on my tv a not so great one. I'd love to see him again one day as a manager or commentator.

| #14 Posted on 23.1.02 1827.22 | Let's try a similar question: If you had to pick one wrestling federation in one particular era as the best (i.e. WCW in the 1990s) which would it be and why?
For coolest memories, I would pick NWA in the 1980s. Growing up in the 80s I have alot of fond memories, one of which was watching NWA wrestling on lazy Saturday and Sunday afternoons (at the strange Turner time of 7:05 eastern, 4:05 where I was at.) While you never saw too many big matches on TV, that was just the nature of wrestling back then, and the interviews with Tony Schavone and/or Jim Ross were great.
Any other nominees? Was anyone a big AWA fan?

Amen to that. Pillman was a huge talent, and one of the best on the mic ever. (Hell, Steve Austin has admitted that he learned to talk during his partnership with Pillman as the Hollywood Blondes just to keep up with Pillman). He is the one main reason I started cheering for some heels even though I was supposed to boo them, and stopped blindly cheering whatever babyfaces were shoved down everyones throats - that and the fact that even back then, I realized Shane Douglas sucked. The Loose Cannon, Brian Pillman will always be the best ever in my eyes. It just sucks that he died before he could ever hit it big in the Attitude era he so very much helped create.

| #16 Posted on 23.1.02 2059.39 | There are plenty of wrestlers I enjoy watching, most of them for different reasons--I like the fact that not everyone is a monster, or a high flyer, or a promo artist, or a workrate machine. All of those talents have their place. I'd hate to see a one-style fed...
Trip was a favorite of mine before his injury, but he hasn't re-established himself, IMO. He looks great (never underestimate that where female fans are concerned, but it sure ain't the whole story) and I like his moves, but he's a one-note on the mike. I about died laughing when Rocky told him to go eat some ice cream and be happy.
Rocky is also easy on the eyes, and when he's in the zone he has cut some of my favorite promos of all time, but if I never see a People's Elbow again, it will be too soon. Pure wrestling-wise, I'll take Angle or Benoit, but I have to admit I can barely visualize Benoit any more--he's been gone too long.
RVD is my newest favorite--I never caught ECW, so I'd never seen him before he got to the WWF. Amazes the hell out of me that a human being can move that way. Damn cute, too--best butt in wrestling. However, I bet he stinks of reefer. I knew too many guys like that in Santa Cruz.
My number one of all time? Kill me now; it's the Undertaker. Difficult to say why, other than his longevity and his size. He's lost a lot of steps and gained a lot of weight since '98 or so, he's usually peculiar on the mike, IMO, and I like Satanists even less than I like bikers, which is not at all. He rivets me to the TV anyway. I buy magazines purely for Undertaker pics. I save tapes when there's a Taker match. I got thrills and chills watching that "My Sacrifice" video. Some of it's the resonance of his history, and some of it is just the way he looks and moves. It amazes me that he still changes things around every month or so, and every now and then pulls out something surprising like a flying plancha or a dragon sleeper. Where he's concerned I'm just a helpless mark, that's all. He's almost the only reason I spend real money on wrestling, though my husband would get the PPVs in any case now that I've corrupted him into fandom. That must be what they call star quality. I can't account for it otherwise.

| #17 Posted on 23.1.02 2137.36 | FOLEY IS GoOD!
And that's all I have to say about that...
Actually it's not...
My first experience with wrestling post-Hulkamania was ICP's Stranglemania. I thought it was sick, but I could tell there was something cool about this "Cactus Sac" they kept showing. It was the discovery that Cactus Jack and Mankind were the same person that led me to start watching the WWF, and reading "Have a Nice Day" led me to check out ECW, and eventually to purchase an ICP free version of the King of the Deathmatch Tournament, and get the entire IWA over with me!
If one man can make me a fan of three different promotions, that makes him a shoe in for the "favorite wrestler" spot.
HONORABLE MENTIONS: -Jeff Hardy -RVD -HHH -The Ultimate Warrior (Put down those torches and pitchforks! He may not have been heavy on talent, but he was fun to watch.) -The Macho Man -Gangrel (Just cause I love the games his gimmick was based on)
Once you start down the smark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

| #20 Posted on 23.1.02 2319.38 | Mine without a doubt would have to be Raven. In ECW he had a great gimmick, incredible feuds, good storylines, awesome promos, and the power to wrestle the match in a way that emphasized his strengths. Plus, he just looked and acted cool. He stole a guys kid! He had sexy music. He slouched in a corner. He had a cult. He was willing to get hit in the head with a VCR. I don't know how else to explain it. I always liked wrestling, but it was Raven's work with Dreamer and Sandman in ECW that made me fall in love with it.
Honorable mentions: - Billy Kidman - the high-flying Shooting Star - Christian - I love a wiseass. - HBK - He's got the moves. You know he's sexy. And PLUS: I got to touch him at WWFNY at the Rumble. A dream that took over a decade to realize. Besides, he's one hell of a wrestler. The original ladder match and the original HIAC get me every time.
