Anyone else want to bet that Scott Steiner shows up before the end of the show?

I figure that it will be Gillberg in an Austin get-up. Nobody leaves the wwe without getting buried ala the bret midget.

Easily the Rock's best promo ever, and a defining moment in his career. Bravo I say Bravo.

What a letdown.

I was hoping that it was really Chris Harvard coming back out.

That was indeed a really great promo by the Rock.

And oddly enough, I never even thought that it would be him. For some reason, I thought it'd be Goldberg... and thankfully I was wrong.

The biggest name in the company stating that it is "home" to him. That's the kind of thing that boosts the confidence of any fan. Way to go, Rock.

The Rock ruled.

Guererro(sp?) was good on his promo too.

Booker T was hilarious, especially with Heyman.

You know, the thing that irks me about all this is they used a man who might work only 10 dates a year to deliver that promo.

Sure, it's easy to go on and on about how much you love WWE when you get to make 2-3 movies a year at $10 million per film and only have to work a handful of dates.

That is what I was thinking. True Rocky will not be back for long, but he did send the message that even without Austin, WWE will still continue. I think they were sending a message not only to Austin, but to the fans also. It was a great promo and a great way to address this situation.

I was thinking Steiner at first, but yes, thank goodness for The Rock.

Did anyone else see the sign of the night?

What are you talking about? The Rock's movie career is helping backroll WWE. WWE still gets a cut out of every movie he makes. So even while he is in Hollywood, he is still supporting the company. His movie career is the cornerstone of the WWE movie division. I see nothing wrong with them using Rocky for this. Who else did you expect? Triple H? What about UT? Let's see...maybe the Brooklyn Brawler? Oh I know...Doink would really be good to send a message that WWE will survive without Austin.

But it is the net way to find something to complain about.

The Rock cut one of the best promos ever tonight, in my opinion. Timely, exciting, great! He did a great job putting over his confidence in the company and the wretlers' passion, but I think Lawler hit the real key point in the end when he said "we were expecting the rattlesnake, but who cares, we got the Rock?" He's the king of WWE in a way even Hogan might not have been.

Other more minor points: I liked the show. I wish Booker T-Brock went longer, and less focus was on the outside (I feel so smarky), but I was glad for the big buildup and all the heat on the match. Booker's promos were great.

Benoit's promo was also really good; I think he's improved a lot. Eddy's went on too long. All this stuff showed great promise for the future.

Regardless of whether or not he ll be at only ten shows, HE is the company standardbearer, HE is the person that nonwrestling fans associate the WWE with, and HE was the only person to do the job.

And by the way, I agree with all who say that, in Rock's absence, Booker be given the ball, can u dig it suckkkkkkaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
