| #1 Posted on 28.2.02 1742.46 | You have 15 minutes just like the NFL Draft. You want a guy that you can build your federation around. Who do you choose? BTW, this could be anyone from the USA(WWF or indies), Mexico, Japan, etc.
Honestly my first pick would be Kurt Angle. The guy has came so far in his career, yet he can be so much more. The holy shit moment he had with Kane, was just one of those little subtle hints he gives which makes him a great performer plus I believe he has many good years ahead of him as compared to those who have been wrestling longer than him simply because he doesn't have as much wear and tear from being in the ring.
If I couldn't get him, I would choose Chris Jericho. However I would let him be a little more open on the mic (WCW). The man of 1,004 holds has become the man of 1,004 words, repeated each time he gets on mic (well at least when he was a face). He has great wrestling skill, but can get sloppy (missing Lionsault on a big show, etc..)
If I couldn't get either of those two, I would choose either Rob Van Dam or Chris Benoit. Van Dam just has this natural charisma about him that the fans love. Benoit is a workrate freak. However both lack the skill on the mic (compared to Austin or the Rock, which isn't a fair comparison, but hey that's how some fans decide who to boo, who to cheer, and who not to care for).
Now I know these are 4 WWF Superstars, but I'm not familiar with the feds in Mexico and Japan, but there are quite a few on this board who are. So who would you choose to build a federation around as your top pick.

| #2 Posted on 28.2.02 1803.50 | I would choose Rock first and Angle second. Rock has cracked the mainstream and not many wrestlers can do that. He is always improving in the ring and he can be both funny and serious on the mic. Plus he can play both face and heel very well. Angle is second. He can do all the Rock can in the ring but he is only effective as a heel at this point.

| #3 Posted on 28.2.02 1955.13 | What do you mean? I only get one choice? You can hardly make a company out of one guy. But I guess I would choose Stone Cold. I think he's good because he can be both heel and face and puts on entertaining matches. I don't think his workrate is as good as Angle's but Austin makes up for it in the entertainment department. Here's a complete top 10.
1. Stone Cold 2. Kurt Angle 3. Jeff Jarrett 4. Eddie Guerrero 5. Chris Jericho 6. Chris Benoit 7. Raven 8. Lance Storm 9. Chris Kanyon 10. Christian

| #4 Posted on 28.2.02 2041.49 | Picking just one guy is sooooooooo hard. The Rock springs to mind obviously, because of his incredible charisma, cross-media superstardom, fairly solid workrate (no matter how much some people pick on him), and the man just plain looks like The Champ. He's younger than Stone Cold, giving him a greater amount of longevity to carry the Fed if necessary. There are quite a few runners-up, though:
RVD - Pretty much has the same charisma as the Rock, only his is physical while the Rock's is verbal. RVD just has the ability to make the fans watch his every move in anticipation. You can't beat that.
Raven - Underutilized, underutilized, underutilized. Good in every aspect of the game (he's even a good booker), but never really has gotten the chance on the big stage. Build a heel stable around him, give him the mic and let him roll. Probably a good choice for an alternative fed trying to compete, since they might let Raven slip away stupidly.
Scott Steiner = A monster heel to rival HHH, with a solid (if disturbing) look, a fair amount of in-ring skills and a psychotic gimmick that gets over pretty easily. Give the man a legitimate finisher (the Recliner is SOOOOO LAME), and he can dominate any fed.
Of course, that's just off the top of my head.

| #5 Posted on 28.2.02 2137.04 | If you don't pick the Rock, first, you are an idoit. He has "IT". I don't know what "It" is, but damn he's got it. He can turn any slow moving Test or Regal match into a fascinating epic battle. He has the ablity to charm the pants off anyone in any business which makes him a God in the mainstream world. He is the man. As for the other picks, here they are.
1. Rock 2. Austin 3. Angel 4. Jericho 5/6. E and C 7. HHH 8. Taker 9/10. the Hardies.

| #6 Posted on 28.2.02 2250.26 | I'd pick Stephanie McMahon. Clearly she has all the know how when it comes to booking a wrestling promotion, plus she has the experience of being in pretty much every major angle for the past two years. On top of all this she has a beautiful voice and a great body. Stephanie is where it's at.

| #7 Posted on 1.3.02 0029.00 | I'll do my list as fantasy football-style mock draft. We'll assume that the WWF imploded (some may say that it's not too far from becoming reality) as well as every other fed, and three startup feds (let's use the fictitous WAF, FWA, and USWL for this one) stepped up to clean up the mess. They get a ten round "snake" draft (reverse order every round) to draft wrestlers. A random draw determined the initial order as WAF, FWA, USWL. Valets don't count, and tag-teams only count as one if they're a tag-team as of March 1. Here's how the lineups turned out:
WAF -------- 1. The Rock 2. HHH 3. Chris Jericho 4. Booker T 5. APA 6. Rhyno 7. Tajiri 8. Kidman 9. Rey Mysterio 10. Test
FWA ------- 1. Kurt Angle 2. RVD 3. Undertaker 4. Edge 5. Christian 6. Kane 7. Hardy Boyz 8. Hardcore Holly 9. Val Venis 10. William Regal
USWL ----- 1. Steve Austin 2. Jeff Jarrett 3. Scott Steiner 4. Chris Benoit 5. Dudley Boyz 6. Lance Storm 7. Mike Awesome 8. Eddie Guerrero 9. Raven 10. Big Show
Based on this mock draft, which fed made out well? Which fed bombed?

Seeing as how each fed got either Benoit, Angle or Jericho, I can't honestly say any of those feds truly bombed.
Anyhoo, I'm gonna ignore the draft concept, because the thread really boils down to one question-- if you could choose one man around which to build your federation, who would it be?
My pick is Kurt Angle. His moves are more believable than virtually anyone's. His workrate is phenomenal. He's got amazing charisma, and he radiates so much emotion in the ring. And he's capable of playing either face or heel with (I believe) equal ability.
I believe The Rock has gotten to the point where no one will ever boo him again. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but it just seems to me that he's been babyface for far too long for the people to turn on him.

| #9 Posted on 1.3.02 0302.21 | When I win the lottery Im going to take my millions and start a Wrestling fed called Smarks Pro wrestling. and Ill pick my creative team from all the big time Smarks on the net. FINALLY we will all get what we want. Imagine Scott Keith, Eric S, Rick Scaia, CRZ all collaborating to bring YOU the smark fan all great matches you want all on the FX network on Monday nights.....lol.
Anyway on the real If I were building a fed I would definitely take the Rock first. Then Angle, then SCSA. Also I would definitely get Chyna. Becase it would be imperative to draw female fans. And whether or not we smarks wanna believe it Chyna drew fans to WWF. Especially female ones. They got into that whole powerful woman thing.
Lyrically Im supposed to represent, Im not only a client Im the player-president.....
