Which wrestling games, Pike? If you were in Edmonton, I'd challenge you to a game of Power Move Pro Wrestling on my PSone...which I'm starting to get really good at.
Originally posted by ekedolphinI'm so ridiculously good at Super Mario Bros. 3 it's frightening. When the thing first came out, I must've been nine or ten. I bought the Super Mario 3 Strategy Guide from Nintendo Power, and stayed up night after night memorizing the damn thing.
And I didn't even own a Nintendo. I played it at my friend Craig's house. In fact, I didn't own Mario 3 in any capacity until about a year ago, when I bought a Super Nintendo and got the Mario All-Stars game. Even after being away from Mario 3 for that long, I still kicked ten kinds of ass in that game.

Wasn't that video proved to be false? It's still pretty cool every time I see it, though.

To hopefully incite something...I'm going to say MVP Baseball 2004 by EA Sports. Please PM me so we can set something up if you want to dispute this, just take heed of my avatar, and who the team is likely that I'll be playing as.

In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.
Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

If my comp was working correctly I would be on you! Excuses, excuses, still I would be playing with a team I feel is weaker than the Cubs. (Yes it hurts me to admit the Giants to being worse than anyone, but the Cubs ain't the Dodgers.) And the hitting system is still a bit of a mystery, so I'd have to smother you with small ball.
Edited: for my own stupidity... I seem to do that a lot.

All you'd need is a PS2...unless it's your internet connection that is screwed up.

Originally posted by Guru ZimSega Genesis: NHL 93. The ultimate hockey game.
... I think you're referring to NHL '94. '94 (released in 1993) was the first game to include one-timers; also was the first game to include BOTH the team logos and the actual players.
NHL Hockey was the first Genesis EA hockey game (1991); it had the team logos, but only used the player's numbers (I had to use the NHL Guide and Record Book from 1991 to identify a few lesser-known players).
The second EA hockey game was NHLPA Hockey '93 (1992). This one had all the player's names, but the teams were identified by their cities and colors only.
NHL '95 (1994) included the much-anticipated season mode, but the game engine and graphics were changed significantly; in my view, the engine and graphics should have been left alone.
NHL '94 was the best out of the early Genesis lot, imo, and was the game I played most frequently.
The hockey game I play the most now would be NHL '98 for the PlayStation. Given the complete package of playability, graphics, sound, commentators, etc. ... in my view, it's still the best out there.
As for mastery of these games, that was achieved long ago. What I try to do now is limit myself. Since offensive rushes and goals are so plentiful in any hockey game, I'll pass only on my forehand and score only off of rebounds. I'll also play more of a defensive style, and take a last-place team with a poor goalie to the championship while holding opponents (both CPU and human) to less than 25 shots on goal in a full 60-minute game.
Teams that I select the most, by game, are:
NHL Hockey -- Quebec Nordiques and Winnipeg Jets NHLPA Hockey 93 -- San Jose Sharks NHL 94 -- San Jose Sharks and Ottawa Senators NHL 98 -- Los Angeles Kings
Not sure why, but i became extremely adept at mastering Wrestlmania the Arcade Game for Sega back in the day. Without using the bigger combos i was able to sweep about everyone i played. I used to use Bret Hart, and if i went up against Yokozuna or Luger, i was able to repeat sharpshooters one after another until the meters sunk to dead on them.
