Whitney Houston has died so says her publisist, the AP, Twitter and MSNBC. No word on the cause yet. She was one of those big time acts that one wonders what she could have done without all the personal problems.

Well there goes another piece of my childhood. "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" is one of the first songs I can actually remember hearing as a kid. RIP Whitney.

THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL was my public schools' unofficial anthem the year it came out. What a great song and great message.

RIP, Whitney - thanks for the music and memories.

The soundtrack to The Bodyguard was played over and over again during my teenage years.

To add to JayJayDean's response...I liked "HE'S THE DJ, I'M THE RAPPER", which had such classics as "Parents Just Don't Understand" and "Nightmare On My Street". I had it on tape three times and wore it out every time.
