Well, the Yankees did it! I can't believe it, but they did it. I have to be honest and say that I didn't see them making the playoffs this year. At least not in the first half of the season, and who could blame me? Just goes to show you, the old addage is right about the season being a marathon and not a sprint.

Yeah, it should, but we don't live in Shouldland! Ah, Shouldland, where clean-cut kids cruise Shouldland Boulevard, and the Shouldland High football team gets their optimistic asses kicked by their crosstown rival, Reality Check Tech.

You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.

Well, if by "did it", you mean "clinched the wild card"...

Not only that, but the Yanks are in, and the Mets are probably going to set the new regular season mark for choking away a division lead. They've got to win out, and have either Philly or San Diego lose 1, just to get to a tiebreaker. If you had told me that we'd be looking at THAT scenario in early June, I'd have laughed in your face.

Hey, it worked for Babe Ruth, right? I can't help but feel bad for the guy. As a Cards fan, after his postseason fiasco against the Mets, I wanted his neck. But now, with hindsight, I'm cheering for the guy.
