| #1 Posted on 8.1.02 2346.48 | You know if today wasn't my birthday and the Pittsburgh press and Pens weren't hinting at a Mario return tonight, I might not be pissed, but I am. Jesus, the Pens are a decent team with him, without him, they suck. Sure, they can beat the Rangers, but who can't nowadays. Its good for the Pens to get some experience without him, but enough is enough already. Get the uniform on and lets go.

Oh MAN, if you'd put your birthday in your user profile, you could have had the message board automagically wishing you happy birthday ALL DAY LONG....assuming it's working correctly (and I think it is).
Happy birthday, anyway!

| #5 Posted on 9.1.02 1302.04 | Yeah, it's getting a little hard to wait for Mario to return.
It'll be interesting to see what he's got in the tank. I'm a big fan, but he didn't exactly impress in the games before he was sidelined.
I'm loathe to say it... but I wonder if he should have stayed retired?
Well, here's hoping he comes back and looks like the Mario of old.

And as far as Mario is concerned... given that I live across the street from the Mellon Arena, yet have somehow managed never to go to a hockey game there yet, he better come back because I need a team to cheer on after the Steelers win the Super Bowl... or try to, at least.
---=---:---=--- [Look up a line] Wow, that belt looks like crap... I'll take it and carry it around for years and see if people can take it away from me... What? What was that? You mean even THIS belt doesn't matter! What? I'm insulted! Get away from me you... you... defiler!

As for The Magnificent One, he's suffering from the INJURY bug, a problem that's rendered him useless. If he wasn't the owner and making nothing this year, I'd suggest selling him to anybody stupid enough to take him (The Rangers...or maybe the Flyers...after all, Bob Clarke is a stupid idiot...). Then again, he'll probably be back to form 'round March...far too late to save the season for Pittsburgh.

| #9 Posted on 11.1.02 0457.05 | I believe Mario is set to return any day now (again..
Before he was injured he wasn't the guy he was last year upon unretiring though.. Perhaps he was injured then already?
What also might be the problem is that now Jagr is gone the other team can focus a whole lot more on Lemieux. And they probably remember how to stop him now.. Didn't he retire because he got sick of all the clutching and hanging on to him the defenders did? Just sit on his back and watch him crumble.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

Did you ALREADY forget about him leading the NHL in scoring from the day he came back?
"Before he was injured he wasn't the guy he was last year upon unretiring though..Perhaps he was injured then already?"
Indeed he was. He got hurt in camp.
"What also might be the problem is that now Jagr is gone the other team can focus a whole lot more on Lemieux."
There *is* something of a dropoff from Jagr to Richer. |
