Ready 2 Rumble. I don't know if that fits in the guidelines, but I somehow think Sal Bandini wanting to wrassle is something known by far more men than women.

My favorite movies that my wife watched but hated are Marathon Man and City of God.

My favorite movies that my wife simply won't watch at all are The Thing and Oldboy.

My favorite big ol' ACTION movie is The Road Warrior, which my wife thought was "ok."

Best movie that I can't get the Mrs. to watch? Hmm, probably Hero.

I would have to say "Scarface" I can't think of one male that doesn't want to watch it every time it is available to watch.

      Fixed.

Nice to be back, W. Hopefully I won't come back on a regular basis.
Dude, can you fix that quote? I never said that Stephen Segal's movies were bad...that was your addition.

And yes, while they can be bad, that's not the context of the post, now is it?

    EDIT: Spelling...

Um, sorry, I was kidding around. I'm still in Deadspin commenting mode. Consider this me fixing the quote and attempting to make it all better.

"The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" because we all know how much women just looooooove Andrew Dice Clay.

Also I never knew a woman that liked "Pulp Fiction".

Classic man-movie, met very, very few women who'd give that one the time of day. That, Bloodsport, Running Scared (Paul Walker, not Crystal/Hines), and Shoot 'Em Up all come to mind....

No Oldboy?? A little hammer dentistry never hurt anybody.

I don't know if it's a "man movie" but the movie I have the most problem getting girls to watch is Transformers: The Movie. That being the old cartoon one, not the new crappy one.

Hey, my parents named me after the main character in LOVE STORY. Even though the movie has about as much substance as corn syrup, I'm still kinda attached to it.

The sequel, however....no.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the reason you have trouble with getting girls to watch Transformers: The Movie is because you're doing it wrong.

You don't watch it with as a "date".
You do watch it in a party type atmosphere (as one of multiple movies on a movie night).
If said girl owns even a single purse that costs more than a video game (or especially a video game system)... don't even attempt.
You mention it as one of the few movies that makes you cry.

I have to second this one (if we're basing it on Man Movie: That Which Woman Dost Hate). My wife despises this movie, thus ensuring that I will interrupt whatever it is I'm doing to watch it if I know that it's on.

Yet another film that I've seen in the theater with my cinematically-challenged father. He LOVES LOVES LOVES this movie - and, in fact, just brought it up in a conversation we had the other day.

Fight Club - Is basically about how men are oppressed by modern feminist society and aren't allowed to be men.

In the Company of Men - Super anti-woman.

Rambo - First Blood I could see having some female appeal, but the latest one is all testosterone.

Expendibles - Duh

I second American Beauty - Another movie about male oppression.

Swingers - Never met a girl who "got" it.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Road House. Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliot, booze, butt-kicking, and an extraordinarily graphic sex scene.

I'd also suggest 300 and Hoosiers (I'm sure some women like Hoosiers, but none I've ever met).
