| #443 Posted on 20.5.08 0913.05 | Instant Rating: 7.40 | Just got back from SD, where it was about the same as here - my usual Chevron was $3.91 for regular this morning. We prepaid for the full tank in the Dodge Charger we rented (which was SWEET) and it was $70.20. It sounded better when he told us it was $3.90/gal, after driving by the nearby Shell on the way to pick up the car - where it was $4.15/gal. Still, we returned the car with the gas light on, so that was still a good choice.

Y'all don't know how lucky you are. We've just hit £1.20 per litre, which by my reckoning works out around $9 per US gallon.
Some blokes with lorries are driving around in convoys to protest it today (news.bbc.co.uk)
Course *I* would've thought there may be more effective ways to protest fuel prices. Ways that don't use fuel meaning you have to go buy more anyway, for example.

Up to £1.26/litre today so clearly it went well!
As a nation we're not so wise at the protesting.
Our efforts invariably end up being "Passive and Fruitless" or "Ironically Counter-productive".
Our media even throw wistful glances at the French and their cuh-razy protesters. It's one of the only things we concede the French do well.

Not an issue here near Santa Monica, CA. The local Costco is the ONLY station that hasn't cracked $4.00 (it's sitting comfortably at $3.99), with some stations going up to $4.39!

You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week. "If I was doing the Mann Act with two chicks, there'd be multiple violations." (JustinShapiro) Last I checked, the station downhill from home was $4.129, with the one across the street packing 'em in at $4.229. Could be worse, as I saw $4.499/gallon for regular, self-serve, in Stamford (up the road from Titan Towers, oddly enough).

And about 5 weeks later, we're up to $3.49

About 80 cents in 3 months? Yikes.
