With the holidays quickly approaching, what's on your wishlist? Do you have any "dream" items that you doubt you'll ever purchase? Anything geeky? Practical?
Here are two of mine: 1. "Three Colors" trilogy DVDs (The W at Amazon) - made for France's bicentennial, the three titles (Blue, White, Red) represent the French flag. It is set during the reconstruction phrase after the Cold War, and each movie stands alone.
2. Celtic Knot earrings. You can never have enough earrings. Well, maybe you can have too many orange earrings.
I use my Amazon wishlist as a reminder of things (mostly dvds/BDs or books) that I want to look into. There is a book on there that might never find its way into my home in the end. It's been on my list since 2008.
Blurays I put on there so I remember myself that they're being released and that I then need to check if they're regionlocked or not
Two major categories, plus assorted random stuff. DVDs, many of which are things that I have on VHS, but need to upgrade. (I just can't trust Netflix to have "The Russians are Coming" available at my whim. "We've got to get organized!") A bunch of cookbooks & cooking gadgets. (Can you believe, nobody bought me the $400 sous vide machine, plus the $125 sous vide vacuum bagger gadget?) And then a smattering of other random stuff.
The big issue seems that my friends only sporadically remember that I have a wishlist! I had to buy my own copy of "The Advanced Professional Pastry Chef" cookbook. Tsk.
For me, if I see a movie, I have to go online the second I'm near a computer and check Rotten Tomatoes and imdb to see what others thought. It's like a weird compulsion. It's not enough to enjoy or not enjoy a movie.
