| #1 Posted on 29.4.03 2305.54 | Instant Rating: 6.28 | So there's only two ways the 5-minute white boy challange can go:
Most obvious - eventually someone new (or maybe someone needing a re-push) comes out and surprises Mack. New feud is born.
But...
Do you really want to have your average guy flipping through the channels, chance upon Raw, and see the entire arena rooting for the white guy to beat up the Black guy? Not because Chris Benoit happens to be wrestling Sheldon Benjamin, but specifically because one guy's white and the other's Black? They even stayed away from that during the Nation of Domination Angle. Plus it's boring.
or...
they could have Rodney Mack turn out to be white. Not entirely unfeasable, considering the guy's about the shade of Johnny B. Badd.
You could have Teddy Long catching Rodney listening to N'Sync one week, watching re-runs of "Cheers," another week, trying on tight jeans at the Gap another week, stuff like that. Teddy wonders what the hell is going on (numerous Coach jokes could also find their way in here), until he finally snaps, and Rodney informs him he's white. The only way it could get better would be if you could add John Cena to the mix somehow ("Red Dog" aside).
If done right, much hilarity could ensue, and it's a nice way of getting out of a potentially sticky angle. As long as Theodore Long gets to stay on TV (and not as a ref) I'm happy.

The only squash I'm really interested in is the squashing of this sad little angle.

I'll second THAT.
I really don't get the love for Teddy Long. He's vile. All he does is talk in ghettospeak. Just because he can string two sentences together doesn't mean he's a great manager. And Rodney Mack has absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and HE IS NOT FUCKING BLACK, so the entire angle is insane.
I don't really like Jazz, either, but at least she's decent enough in the ring.

The "White Boy Challenge" matches were "decent". Not brillant, not awful, but okay.
I just think "no redeeming qualities" is a bit much.

Pretty easy to figure that one out. Money. D-Lo was making good contract money (I heard several numbers, all of which I would happily play a racist for), while Rodney Mack, is, I am sure, not nearly at that level. But since the push is really for Teddy Long, who cares who the wrestler is? As long as he has a deep tan ( ) and can brawl a little. Mack's no Benoit, that's for sure. But he can brawl.

Hey, I'm one of those guys who DOES enjoy Long's work as a manager so far (the shoe spot at Backlash was hilarious, and he's great on the mic). I just think he could do the same thing with Jazz and be done with Rodney freaking Mack.

Not Black? In the state where I reside, if one has 1/16 black blood (one great-grandparent) by state law THEY ARE BLACK. They can be blond and whiter than Archie Bunker, but according to the law they are black. I believe that Rodney is from my part of the country. I believe he is what we refer to as a "Redbone" which is to say a combination of Black and French. To quote Jamie Kennedy, "Don't be hatin!"

That reminds me of a Bill Cosby joke where he says if that's true, then the next time he's at a party with 15 white people and he shows up, then it's officially a "black party". They gotta play black music, they gotta eat black food, etc, etc.
Originally posted by Mr Heel II ...Or they could just feed him to Goldberg. Have him come down as the surprise opponent in the White Boy Challenge, spear, squash, thanks for coming.
They only way that'll work is when Goldberg's coming down the ring, Teddy Long grabs the mike and says, "Hey-he ain't white. He's Jewish!"
I mean, if you're going to go there, go ALL THE WAY there.
