Since Chris Jericho had the blow-off match with Christian, where does he go next?

There was on-air mention of him looking for the title again - but I think he's been stuck in the midcard too long to be seen as a viable threat. He would probably have to win the Battle Royal - maybe even by cheating and another heel turn.

I don't want to see him handed off to Kane next.

I wouldn't mind him and Orton - but I think Edge has Orton next and may take the IC title - while Sheldon/Shelton/Shecky/Shemp is also in line.

I fear we get him and Flair again, for a month, which while enjoyable really wouldn't do much for either of them - except that Batista could run in to save Flair and I think Y2J could get a decent match out of the improving Deacon - but Batista is in a program with Tajiri.

So, does that leave Y2J with Tyson Tomko?

Wheel of Morality, turn turn turn. Tell us the lesson that we should learn.

I think Jericho's feud with Christian is over, and that he and Benoit will have a World Title match at Bad Blood. Yes, I do. Don't laugh at me.

Please.

So, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?

He was stuck in the midcard for much longer before winning the title the first time. At least now he had the fact that he is a former champion lending credibility to a potential title match.

With Jericho, it would be extremely easy to put him back in the title picture simply by expanding on the interview where he threw his name out as a possible contender. Just have him cut a promo talking about how his head hasn't been in the game for a long time, mostly thanks to Trish, but now he's focused again and ready to regain his place at the top. Maybe even say something about how watching former Dungeon mate Benoit winning the title has reawakened his desire to be champion once again.

That being said, I think Badd Blood would be too soon to run a Jericho/Benoit title match. It would make for a perfect SummerSlam main event, however. So while I would start planting the seeds of Jericho vs Benoit soon, I'd tie Jericho up with Tomko through Badd Blood and then kick off a 2 month buildup to SummerSlam. At some point, maybe even have Benoit & Edge drop the title and then Edge get taken out so that Jericho replaces him for the rematch where they regain the straps. (Benoit & Jericho are former champions together, remember.) The opponents as partners storyline might be a bit played out, but it would make it easy to stretch out the buildup.

Other than that, I'm not really sure what they could (successfully) do with him, other than insert him into the already burgeoning IC title picture or else jump him to Smackdown where there would be several potential uppercard feuds waiting for him.

InVerse's scenario sounds interesting, but I can't get around the rumours that Kane will be the challenger at Bad Blood while HHH will face Benoit at SummerSlam. They certainly did treat the cage match like the blowoff between Jericho/Christian, and frankly that feud has done as much as it's going to do for either guy and both need to move on.

A Benoit/Jericho match headlining SummerSlam in TO would be awesome in more ways than one, but I see Jericho's renewed interest in the title more as providing a foil for heel #1 contenders to get heat on rather than a sign that Jericho is being moved back into the main event.

Feuding Jericho with Tomko would just be an extension of the Christian feud, and having Jericho tear through that whole group would not only come dangerously close to Steiner/Test territory in terms of played out storylines but would kill off a.) any heat Christian/Trish have gained from this angle and b.) any heat that Tomko could hope to have as an enforcer/bodyguard if he gets beaten by little ol' Jericho in his first feud.

After Shelton Benjamin wins the IC title at Bad Blood, that frees up Randy Orton to feud with Jericho, possibly in a #1 contenders feud that either guy could conceivably win. Christian and his gang could then feud with Benjamin over the title and probably do a convincing job of getting Shelton over via the 3 vs. 1 slant to the feud. Just an idea...

After Bret Hart lost the WWF title to Bob Backlund in late 1994 he had to feud with guys like Hakushi, Jean Pierre Lafite and Isaac Yankeem! None the less they pushed him back into the title picture afterwards and he became one of the greatest of all time! That means itīs NEVER too late to push a great talent and former champ back into the main event!

I don't know if Hakushi was a good wrestler or not, but I do know he was the guy who did the Flying Space Tiger Drop, so back off, man. LOL...

As for what's next for Jericho... hmmm... tell you what, I'll wait until after the battle royal before I make that speculation. There are twenty guys in that battle royal, after all, and don't forget that Benoit's defending the title against Triple H. (At least, I think it's a title defense.) I'm knocking on wood and praying that Benoit doesn't drop the title. But if Trips regains the belt (and you know that after all this jobbing, he's due to eventually get a win against someone), and Jericho wins the battle royal, I guaran-damn-tee that Jericho is gonna be Hunter's bitch yet again.

"don't forget that Benoit's defending the title against Triple H."

I was under the impression that his promised title shot would come in the form of the battle royal, just like he promised a title opportunity to both Christian and Jericho. Could be wrong, tho.

Once upon a time in China, some believe, around the year one double-ought three, head priest of the White Lotus Clan, Pai Mei was walking down the road, contemplating whatever it is that a man of Pai Mei's infinite power contemplates - which is another way of saying "who knows" - when a Shaolin monk appeared, traveling in the opposite direction. As the monk and the priest crossed paths, Pai Mei, in a practically unfathomable display of generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods. The nod was not returned. Now was it the intention of the Shaolin monk to insult Pai Mei or did he just fail to see the generous social gesture? The motives of the monk remain unknown. What is known, are the consequences. The next morning Pai Mei appeared at the Shaolin Temple and demanded of the Temple's head abbot that he offer Pai Mei his neck to repay the insult. The Abbot at first tried to console Pai Mei, only to find Pai Mei was inconsolable. So began the massacre of the Shaolin Temple and all 60 of the monks inside at the fists of the White Lotus. And so began the legend of Pai Mei's five point palm exploding heart technique.

Yeah, I think that's it. The lead-in to announcing the battle royal was how there had been a number of guys say they'd been promised a shot at the title next (or this) week.

I think he'll feud with Batista. Orton has feuds already and Jericho's already faced Flair. Both men could probably come out of Batista/Jericho strong, and the matches would be pretty good. I do think they're building towards having Y2J in the MEs again, and this could be a little start to that, feuding with Evolution...

Yes you can. Different characters, different times, different pushes, etc. Kane was over and accepted as a top guy while Isaac Yankem was laughed at and treated as a joke. Despite being portrayed by the same worker, there's really no comparison between the two.

Now, my memory might not be as good as it once was but wasn't Isaac Yankem DDS only featured for a short while during the Bret Hart-Jerry Lawler feud?
I seem to remember Lawler boasting about how he had gotten this wrestler personally and how he was going to destroy Bret Hart. Then Hart would start up some Burger King chants and I think it culminated in some weird match (kiss my foot, or something).

HHH may be due for a win over someone other than Tajiri, but it's not a title win. All signs point to the HHH/HBK story reaching climax, and that means HBK will return HHH's screwjob to help Benoit retain.

Remember even though Kane is slated to face Benoit at Bad Blood and Triple H to face him at Summerslam, Vengeance is a Raw PPV so Jericho could get his title shot their and then Toronto could be Triple H/Benoit, Jericho/Michaels with one for the title.

...and that's the bottom line cos jk sed so

The bonus PPV situation still confuses me, especially if Raw is now getting two in October (GABash - SD, Vengeance - Raw, Unforgiven - SD, No Mercy - Raw, "Halloween Havoc" - Raw?), but if Raw does have an extra one before SummerSlam then the title shot would go to Michaels, as he has one win and one visual win on Benoit, and would be (theoretically) coming off a Hell in a Cell victory.

Kane in the title match is atrociously gay (especially since they had him lose at Backlash instead of rehabbing him against someone else) but it could be worse. I read in this week's Observer that Kenzo freakin' Suzuki cost himself the title shot and a big summer program with Benoit by not wanting to do the Hirohito gimmick. Icky.

i actually wouldn't want to see RVD booked in this match, for the reason that if he does, he's just going to look like a bystander to the shawn-hhh feud.
