Seeing a promo for "A Season on the Brink" every thirty seconds on the ESPN networks or FOX giving crappy people 15 more minutes of fame with "celebrity boxing?"
There was a blurb in our sports section of the Sunday paper where Steve Alford echoed my own sentiments about this movie being WAAAAYYYYYY overhyped. He was moaning about watching a lot of games of opponents that were taped off of ESPN and having to sit thru what seemed like hours of promos for this movie. He lived it, and is tired of it. I agree.
I also heard the author, John Feinstein (SP?) on a morning radio show a few weeks ago and he is distancing himself and his book from this apparent turd.
I'm torn, because if they weren't beating me over the head with promos, I'd probably watch the movie, but because I'm so annoyed with the promos, I feel like I shouldn't watch on principle. I mean, don't I put up with enough of that from the WWF??
seeing the espn promos is definitely more annoying. who knows how factual these tv movies are, whereas danny bonnaduce kicking greg brady's ass will 100% accurate. at least it isn't an eating contest.
espn's just going overboard because it's their first movie. they want a good rating, backlash be damned!
It's just you against the group mind. I like weiners.
While there may be just 19 on NBA benches, to be fair, you should probably consider all the prep-to-pro prospects who were never drafted, as well. I'm thinking of you, Leon Smith and friends.
