I bought Asian specialties at the awesome grocery store I can't spell. We went to Portland and saw my two cousins and their kids for Thanksgiving leftovers.
Stuff for kids at Youthville who for various reasons were removed from parental care and have a bleak christmas ahead of them. And a Frazier fir for our Christmas tree.
Chipped in on a flat screen for my father, but got someone else to stand in the 2 hour Best Buy line for checkout. Also got some sweaters, slacks, a memory foam mattress pad, and some pillows. Oh, and an HDMI-upconvert DVD and a 5-quart crockpot that are gifts to me from someone else. What I really could have used was one of the doorbuster laptops, but the tickets for them were gone before the employees got to where any of us were in line.
Black Friday seemed a little underwhelming this year. Maybe I'm just old and can't remember past last Tuesday, but it seemed like this year, there were more stores carrying Black Friday prices before the actual event. I picked up my TV at the BF price the Thursday before Thanksgiving. Several stores also had doorbusters left pretty late on Friday and even on Saturday morning.
I didn't really do BF shopping per se, but the fiancee dispatched me to Wal-Mart to pick up some Rubbermaid containers (packs of 15 for $7 a pop) and Dove chocolates.
Bought a bunch of recent Marvel books at $0.50 a pop at my local comic shop as well as a few back issues I actually needed. Then went to the shop across town and bought a few trades at 25% off.
I also got lucky at an out of the way Wal-Mart and got the $50 Rock Band doorbuster at the "late" time of 9:30am.
Good times.
