With The Rock, I was thinking that maybe he could give John Cena a rub by having some sort of impromptu promo battle in the ring (for that to work, Cena would need to get the upper hand on him though).

For the main event, I'm expecting the triple threat match to go last, with Taker/Kane just before. I'm not sure whether Angle/Guerrero would be in the middle of the card (like WM8's title match was) or whether Goldberg/Lesnar will be put there. I agree with a previous post mentioning the happy ending - WrestleMania isn't the same without one in my eyes.

I'm also expecting Orton/Foley to be a singles match, possibly a street fight so Foley can him a similar rub as he gave to HHH (i.e. Orton beating Foley at his own match). Afterwards Orton can perhaps start phasing out his Legend Killer gimmick and move on towards protecting his IC title from all comers as an angle.

So it's pretty much established that Taker is going over Kane and Brock is beating Goldberg. That leaves us with two matches with a heel needing to win one and the face the other. Like someone else said, the triple threat has the star power, it will be the main event, and unless Vince wants to start a riot, either HBK or Benoit have to win. The only question is which will win? It's not inconceivable that HBK could get the duke at WM only to lose the belt to Benoit the next month. Shawn could easily start a heel turn the night after WM. This being just in time to be a uber heel in Canada while dropping the belt to Benoit in his hometown.

I'm sure the Raw title match will be the main event. If nothing else, it's had more build of the two title matches, and there isn't that ubermatch out there anymore that could trump both world titles for the final slot. I still think Benoit will win at Mania, and that Michaels' inclusion in the match was in part to add suspense to what was seen as a foregone conclusion had it remained HHH/Benoit.

Has anyone else heard the rumour about it becoming a ladder match, or is that just Scott Keith's wishful thinking?

I must say I am really surprised with the one-sided response for thinking Raw will main event. Maybe I asked this too early (wed) before we got to see one full show with Eddie as champion and how they were going to turn Kurt fully. Did Thursday's show change anyones mind.

I'm really surprised by the number of posters here really not thinking Eddie truly is in the top of his babyface game to have the legit star power to main event. I think Eddie's more over then both of babyfaces on Raw side. HHH/HBK has been done, heck just a little over a year ago HBK beat HHH for the World title at Survivor Series in MSG(I'm I correct on that). I respect Benoit alot but Eddie is much more loved by the overall audience then Benoit is and if Benoit does win you again going to have a mixed reaction from saddened HBK fans. On the heel side, I'll be generous and call it a push even deep inside I think Angle is more talented in HHH in every which way and have alot more confidence in Angle to deliver a great main event then HHH.

For me after SD this week I'm sold on the SD WWE title match, the build, the participants are all there to be a main event, in one show they bettered Raw. Raw main event hasn't interest me in the month Benoit's been there and HHH/HBK continuing saga that Angle setup and beatdown did this week. T.Slasher, you said Brock vs. Angle was somewhat anticlimactic, but the alternative World title match was HHH vs. Booker T. Looking at that I think they went with the best decision... It seems a few people here think Undertaker is actually going to finish the show and not a world title match. I never really thought of a non Championship match finishing the show but it is a possibility.

I found it interesting on Smackdown this week that Michael Cole was hyping the SD WWE title that's going to main event. When Kurt Angle came out to open the show, Cole said and I quote "For the second consecutive year, Kurt Angle is headlining the Wrestlemania main event". Of course as it's been stated in this thread they been building the Raw World title as the Wrestlemania main event on the Raw show... I like this! Both shows are assuming their championship is obvious the more important of the two so the announcers and everyone involved is stating that "Our Championship match is the main event". Which puts it in the hands of the board of directors (whoever they are LoL) to make the decision on which match is worthy of main event status in the split PPV.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory is lowered to BLUE alert - Guarded (Due to Eddie being WWE champ and facing Angle at WM, Benoit winning the Rumble in World title match in mania BUT Kliq members is still a threat - Vince you can save us from these threats) 2/17

I'm no fun at all. I'm personally convinced that not even Vince is sure yet. He's going to continue to watch how the guys sell the buildups & how the crowd reactions evolve. (And whether everybody stays healthy. Cross your fingers.) Maybe about Friday (3/12) he'll really finalise the running order.

The Guerrero/Angle match has had a long, slow build, & we haven't even seen all the nuances yet. That one is only going to build as we go through the next 3 weeks. HHH/HBK/Benoit is much more obvious (in many ways). There's certainly build that can happen between now & then; right now, it seems like that one might end up with less momentum going in. (But maybe after the next Raw, that'll be different.) HHH & HBK are the proven big $$$ go-to guys; although Kurt is right up there too. The poor SD guys have to haul their (cute little) asses all the way to South Africa between now & then, so we might expect a lull on that front.

If forced to pick, right now, barring anything extraordinary (eg. at the very last minute Bret Hart agrees to be Benoit's corner man), I'd go with Angle/Guerrero. But it's close, & Vince is wily enough to defer that decision.

(Is that sufficiently non-committal? :-) )

I don't think it's competition for the main event slot as much as it is the company treating every dual-brand PPV as a double main event. That is, last year was Angle vs Lesnar and Booker T vs HHH, despite the fact that Angle vs Lesnar was the true main event and McMahon vs Hogan got most of the publicity and the cover of the DVD. And look at the year before that when Rock asked Hogan if he'd like to headline the main event of yet another Wrestlemania, despite the mediocre HHH vs Jericho being booked last.

Unfortunately, while Angle vs Lesnar stood out to me as THE main event last year, there is no such match that stands out the same way. The card seems extremely stacked, with Lesnar vs Goldberg and Taker vs Kane leading an unbelievable undercard. But neither of the world title matches stand out to me on paper as a dream Wrestlemania main event, and certainly not the clusterfuck Raw triple threat. Their best bet is to begin hyping Angle versus Guerrero as a huge huge feud that is a battle of epic proportions, because as it is, Benoit vs HHH vs HBK is not the main event you want headlining your 20th Super Bowl.

BTW, I find all of this 'Well it's RAW's turn this year' talk inaccurate. One year is not what you would base a precedent around. WWE must go with what works for business. Last I checked Raw had the main event of Survivor Series, Summerslam, and the higher world title match on the Royal Rumble card. Should Smackdown finally get a chance to main event a PPV? No, because the main event of Wrestlemania must be whatever suits the business the best. And right now, that looks like Angle/Guerrero.

How can you say Goldberg/Lesnar?

Goldberg has little to no wrestling ability and the fans will want to see a face win the main event. If Goldberg is indeed leaving the WWE then this match should be the first of the big four, then have Guerreo beat Angle,HHH win the Triple Threat and Taker demolish Kane.

Matches Speculated For WMXX Which Could Main Event Other PPVs:

The Undertaker vs. Kane [Return of the Dead Man]
Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero [WWE Championship]
Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar [RAW vs. SmackDown!]
Mick Foley vs. Randy Orton [Arguable; Foley is a draw]
Chris Benoit vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels [World Championship]

I think the Triple Threat will get the final spot. Just a hunch.

Some of the best podcasts were actually with relatively unknown people, just guys from the indies. The first one, with Shawn Daivari is great. I had no clue the guy was that young when he got into the business and into WWE.
