Well, now that the World Title is in the hands of Shawn 'I lost my Smile, but I found a 1.7 rating' Michaels, the question has to be asked: What excuse will he use to avoid jobbing the belt? Will it be Lost Smile 2? Disagreement over a drug test? Assault in a bar? Or will Shawn come up with a new excuse? Early contender is 'When I found God, he said I could win the World Title again, but he never said anything about losing it.' Remember, as bad as people believed Trip was, Shawn is the master at finding ways not to actually lose a title.

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

Or maybe he'll pull an Undertaker and undergo a 2 Month extended feud with Jericho which sees Michaels win the first PPV, have the entire IWC up in arms for a month, then job clean to Jericho the next PPV.

Or maybe he'll simply do a Hogan and pass the torch. And yes, I know Hogan wanted the job back, but he did the right thing vs Brock.

Shawn's gonna pull an Oral Roberts and claim that if he loses the belt, God's gonna call him home.

But I thought the title was meaningless without a tournament to earn it, so doesn't that mean we WANT Michaels to forfeit the title? I know, how about he comes out on Raw tonight and announces that as great as it is to be the world champion again, he can't physically handle defending it the way a champion should, so he's forfeiting it and Bischoff starts a tournament.

I gotta say, I think the purpose of the Elimination Chamber was to make the title mean something. You want a tournament? Last night was akin to a 6-man round-robin tournament. Everyone against everyone else, until only one remained.

When it first came about, I think a case could definitely be made as to how the title didn't mean anything. But now? Last night was a new beginning for the title, and I think it's definitely not meaningless anymore.

I thought the popular theory making its rounds across the 'net was that Michaels would forfeit the title (gasp!) and that a tournament would be held, whereby every week on RAW a match would take place leading up to the finals at the next PPV ...

Just for the record, I don't think HHH ever lost a title without jobbing it - aside from losing the IC title due to a knee injury, way back when he wasn't "evil".

HHH lost the WWF title to the Rock at (I think) KOTR 2000 without jobbing. Rock pinned Vince to win the title, it was a 6 man tag with Rock, Kane and Taker against HHH, Shane and Vince.

And if the HHHaters wanted to be really pedantic they could point out that when he and Austin lost the tag titles, Austin got pinned, not him. But you'd have to be really pathethic to bring that up as a serious point considering the guts he showed finishing the match with a torn quad.

Perhaps Shawn will just lose the title this time without any issues coming up. He seems to have shaped up, and I don't read any rumors of Shawn's politicing this time around.

You clique haters really have to hate this huh? I'm sorry, but Shawn winning at SurSer was a great move. It was a good gesture to the guy who has seemingly defeated his past demons. Shawn's win also placated Triple H. And maybe, just MAYBE, Shawn will lay down for RVD next week. Would that just make you HHHaters eat your words about the Clique's power?

Then again, I'm sure you will find a way to bitch about RVD winning the title (even though it's what most of you all want). Happy HHHating!

The end result isn't the important thing. For example, if (only an if) Michaels dominates the match, and only loses it because of say, HHH interference, that makes Van Dam look weak, even if he wins. Given the choice between a weakend World Champion RVD and a strengthened non champion RVD, I'd take the second option any day of the week (and twice on Sundays).

Usually I like to chime in on discussions like this and speak my perspective, but I really do think the HHHaters topic is utterly hopeless. I've given up, and have accepted the fact that no matter what happens on this wonderful planet we call earth, there will be people who will hate HHH. Completely and totally regardless of anything that happens.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!! HBK job to RVD on a RAW . . . . That is the about the funniest thing I've heard!!!!!!!!

    OK, lemme think of one . . . . . . . . . .ooh, ooh . . . .How about Big Show dropping the title on a Smackdown taping to. . . . . .Shannon Moore?

Man that was fun, but seriously folks, deep down we all know that the only two people "over enough" for HBK to drop the title to are:

    1 HHH
    2 Nash

And I wouldnt consider egomania and selfishness "demons".

HBK is OK by me. Leave the guy alone. He's been in 2 matches in 4 years and both have been great. If he sucks in his match on Monday, then I'll slag on him. But right now, you people have no reason to complain.

I guess that Shawn tanking ratings theory is down the tubes.

Maybe if everyone cared less about "what's good for the business" and cared more about what makes good TV...

I think the title's getting dropped to RVD, one way or the other. Shawn can't (as much as I'd LOVE him to) wrestle on a regular basis.

Of course, no matter how he drops it, a lot of people are going to be poking holes in the scenario:

"Oh, yeah, Shawn jobbed, but he'll get the job back."

    Or:

"Oh, sure, RVD's the champ, but HHH will beat him just like he beats everyone because he SUCKS!!!!!! He's ruining the business--haven't you heard?"

Some folks like to talk about the "apologists" coming up with a lot of excuses, but the HHHaters can do that, too--they're just right.

They should push Batista as the RAW monster and have D-VON DUDLEY beat Brock Lesnar and become the Smackdown monster and have a big payoff fight on PPV.

Those two are the future of pro-wrestling.

    -du365

This is why I like boards like this--everyone's got their own opinion, and no one belittles it.

I like HBK holding the belt till the Raw team decides who to push and who not to push. As for the big rating Raw got, you could go a few ways why it was high:

    1. Shawn. He got the belt and every tuned in to see it, his promo was good and he helped center the show around him while HHH was out.

    2. Waiting for HHH. The high rating could mean the "HHH will be here any moment" storyline got people interested and they kept watching till he returned and were not happy he wasn't there.

    3. The Main event. RVD, Jericho and Booker T carried the show for the most part, Jericho being the work horse of the three. The Main event was solid and people wanted to see someone besides HHH wrestle in the main event on Raw and get to a good shot at the title.

    4. Survivor Series momentum. Steiner's return, D-Von rejoining the Dudly Boys, a number of new champs and some good buzz could have lead to the rating.

    5. Chicago sucks. Can't even beat Rams' second string quaterback with a broken finger.

    6. No HHH. Maybe it is true, no HHH equals a good Raw and a good rating.

A Fan- I would choose the Survivor Series momentum even though I wished the writers would see it was the main event and no HHH.

I'd have to agree with all those(well I have no clue about the football, but the wrestling bits). I was just saying re:redsoxnation's "found a 1.7 rating" and everyone else who said ratings would tank with him as champ.

Speaking of Jericho as MVP, I can't believe that they made him look so strong in the Chamber and are pushing him into the program with Steiner instead of the main event.

After all, Scott Steiner is only one of the biggest names in wrestling of the last couple of years, a multi-tag champ and a multi-wcw heavyweight champ, whose arrival was anticipated by many and when he finally showed up got one of the biggest freakin pops of the night.

Naah...it's a push down for Jericho to be thrown in a feud with this man that could be given the title right now and fans would buy into it.

--On a different yet related subject regarding Steiner/Jericho..it won't be long before we will be bugged with these sort of posts 'Jericho is losing the feud! Politics!' or 'Steiner is losing the feud! Again they screw up!'

--Edit: sorry for not being on topic
