God, I thought he would be great, but that Tiger Driver on Hunter had me scared for both guys. But what would I do with him (Steiner). FEED HIM TO JERICHO. Scott won't be around too long, is in shit shape, and Y2J is finally looking REALLY strong. Let Scott be a "Legend" Jericho can crush at No Way Out. Let Jericho bring up his bad back, chair shot him in it a few times, then make Scott submit with the Walls and be strechered out. Jericho can say the match was for HBK, and that is what HBK will deal with at WM this year. Let Jericho beat HBK then, and you have Jericho looking his best ever.

Y'know, I thought he was doing a double underhook suplex and just couldn't get HHH over...

I'm not a huge fan of either guy, and I thought the match was...deliberately paced...to be kind.

I have to give credit to HHH after that botched "Tiger Driver" (personally I thought he was going for a powerbomb). I don't know if I would've been willing to let Steiner super-plex me after that.

Ummm...I don't think Vince is about to give up on Steiner already. One missed spot and the push is over? That isn't how it works, especially when Vince has signed a big name. I thknk that we will see a re-match with HHH at WM.

Vince is a jerk, but he isn't stupid. I get the impression they knew exactly what they were getting when they signed Steiner, and I doubt Vince EVER had long-range plans for him.

I bet the idea was to hope Steiner stayed in one piece (and didn't kill anybody in the ring) for, at the MOST, two PPVs.

And hey, they almost made it!

The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

Feed Steiner to someone and send him home. Tell him to drop like 50 pounds (he'll still be enormous) and get his stamina to a reasonable level if he wants to come back.

I like the idea too, but if Steiner gets booed out of the building, then Jericho is the de facto face. A vicious Jericho is going to get farther than his babyface side right now, I'd think.

I do really like the parallels with two guys with busted up backs and the foreshadowing to 'Mania there, but I'm just not sure how they could spin Steiner back into a strong enough face to get Y2J the boos...

That's the beauty of it. They don't have to! They can capitalize on Steiner's absolute crappiness and let Jericho make fun of him like never before. If Y2J can get enough of a parallel going before No Way Out, they can even turn Michaels heel at or before the PPV. It's pretty much a given that the Montreal crowd is going to boo HBK out of the building regardless of what he says or does, so why not turn a home...country hero face at the same time? It's either this or teach Michaels how to do the Walls of Jericho in less than a month.

Then let's go one step further. There's at least one other busted up guy on the RAW side that you could feed to Jericho to get him some time off to (a) rest and (b) reevaluate if he really wants to be doing this.

Feed him Jeff Hardy on a RAW before No Way Out. Maybe some more if you have some convenient time-off injuries (wasn't 'Taker doing this for a month or so once?) to take up space. Steiner at No Way Out for the "big name" trashing. Maybe one or two more before Mania, then Michaels.

The other key to this is that JR can't put him over as being a coward by beating the tar out of people, rather as a really sick, driven nutjob. (Oh wait, that's probably going to be Nathan Jones' M.O.)

I mean Jericho needs something big at Mania to cleanse the memory of Lucy the dog feud from the collective memory...

I realize it's an unpopular opinion on this board, but I can't see myself ever believing in Jericho as a convincing main eventer. I've discussed it at length elsewhere, so I won't go into it here, but it's because of that reason that I like another approach...

Steiner gets a live mic on Raw tonight and does what he does best- deliver a rambling, nonsensical tirade lambasting the fans for not supporting him at the ppv. This, perhaps combined with the total destruction of Jeff Hardy or the Hurricane (remember he is the man who dominated HHH and needs to be kept strong so his defeat will help another) and another tirade should bring big time heel heat.

Having turned Steiner, Vince can feed him to a man who loves the fans and has been know to actually carry Steiner to watchable matches- Booker T. The Book defeats Steiner at No Way Out with a title shot at Wrestlemania on the line and goes on to take the title in Seattle.

But notice how that "one spot" was the one that wasn't a Right Handed Punch or a Belly To Belly. Seems like Stiener is a 2 Trick Pony.

Damn that match was the Pretzels...

Feed Steiner to Jericho!!!

There's just one problem...

Triple H finally has a feud where people actually WANT him to win. You think he's not gonna hang onto that for dear life?

Also, have you guys not noticed that Vince hasn't given up on the Big Show or Regal yet? What makes you think that they will drop Steiner like a bad habit?

Think about Kronik for a couple of minutes.

good point, but kronik were hardly being given a push like steiner. vince has invested a lot of tv time to building up steiner as a main eventer; he's NOT just going to drop him after one flubbed move.

The funny part is, I had read in a few places on the 'net that people were HOPING Steiner would blow a move and injure Triple H. Well, we got the blown move but not the injury, I wonder if one out of two is good enough for those folks.

Actually for first televised match, I think Steiner might have surpassed Kronik and moved into Buff Bagwell territory. True it didn't get the classic 'This Match Sucks' treatment, but it was close.

Show & Regal look like Angle & Benoit compared to the mess that was Steiner last night!!

I say Steiner vs 3 Minute Warning. Shovel all the crap into a single pile. (But do get Rico out of there -- Rico's too good as a manager-type for 3MW.)
