| #1 Posted on 9.7.02 0109.28 | Nash's injury puts several people on a bind, including Booker T. What does he do now? Fighting the same nWo guys over and over again would get boring real fast. So here are some solutions to keep the Booker on track:
1. Do an extensive program with Guerrero and Benoit. Each of them lost their potential opponents due to circumstances beyond their control. True, they did it before in WCW, but not in glitzier WWE. If anything, it will sharpen Booker a whole lot.
2. Probably stereotypical and will invlve a major f/h turn, but have him date Molly. Pure Wholesome Goodness meets Harlem Heat. Of course Golddust gets jealous and becomes forlorn. | Promote this thread! | | Zeruel

Have Benoit/Guerrero interfere in those matches, elading to a Booker/Benoit feud. Maybe even have Goldust/Booker vs Show/Pac at Vengeance since you have to put this together on such short notice, as long as Booker wins. And anything longer than that, and I think the feud will finally get old.

| #4 Posted on 9.7.02 0120.41 | Well, it was painfully obvious to me it was going to be Benoit/Guererro vs. the Dudleys at the pay per view. I think they should make that Eddie/Bubba and make it Benoit/Booker. I agree with Bucs on beating the nWo and being done before Triple H comes in and they become an unstoppable force (if that happens of course).

| #5 Posted on 9.7.02 0134.40 | If Nash is going to be gone for an extended period of time, they need to cut their losses and get rid of the nWo. Have HHH turn them down and then have Booker & Dust beat them in some kind of stipulation match, where as if the nWo loses they must disband. Then Booker can be the man that killed the nWo once and for all (storyline-wise, we ALL know Shawn Michaels is the REAL guy that killed this group, went from semi-entertaining to flat-out boring in 2 weeks).

| #7 Posted on 9.7.02 0540.34 | It looks like they slowly started the scenario of benoit/guerrero v goldust/booker on raw this week.
benoit v booker.... YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
But instead of immediately heading into that feud I agree they should finish the nWo feud first, as planned.
No doubt in my mind the Booker-man is going over b.t.w.
The WWE are doing it just right, so no complaints here.
And I like the Booker/Molly idea...

| #8 Posted on 9.7.02 0748.15 | Some of the ideas listed here are good ones for the direction of the feuds, and I wouldn't mind seeing Booker against Benoit.
However I still think that they can play the nWo card a bit longer if they have triple H join the nWo. I don't pretend to know what they had planned for triple H before Nash got injured, but an nWo team with just X-pac, BigShow and Michaels is pretty near dead and the feud becoming stale. In my opinion triple H does better as a heel anyway, and he would add big name power to the group if they do have him join. If he joins, I could see the feud lasting a while longer (ie have a tag match at Vengence, triple H interferes and destroys Booker, building towards a Booker vs Triple H 1 on 1 match for the future).
I also like the destroying the nWo angle mentioned on this thread earlier, but the point is that they do have multiple choices for good ways to handle this. | acrid 2.0

I'm still waiting for the explanation as to why Benoit is on Raw when he was drafted for Smackdown.

I agree that they should have a good explanation, but it isn't uncharted territory, as Benoit was supposed to be Smackdown and now appears exclusively on RAW. I remember Vince saying a piece (perhaps it was last week) that Smackdown would be compensated for Benoit signing a contract with RAW. Maybe they intend for Rey to be on Smackdown as at least part of the deal.
As for triple H coming over to RAW, they could work out a similar deal or trade of some kind. While the brands are supposed to be separate, obviously even the casual fan can see that Vince controls them both, so he could deal people around if he had a good reason to. | ripblazer

'Twas referring to Booker. And I think there's PLENTY of money in the Book as champ. Thank God for the anonymity of the Internet, because I must say that if I were in charge, Benoit wouldn't be getting anywhere near the title.

A majority of the audience still sees him as either a) "A WCW guy" (which means "second rate" to them; or b) A comedy act that they can't take seriously.

Or maybe you're just throwing the term around while talking out of your ass, all to support your opinion. If it's your opinion, fine. But don't try to pass it off as the majority's opinion. Leave that to the majority.

When I say "Majority" I don't mean "The internet fans." Internet fans, as much as many of us want to believe it, do NOT represent a majority of wrestling fans. To further confound things, though, I will say that Boooker T is popular among a majority of the internet fans.
As for "supporting my opinion?" I'll just refer to last summer's failed WCW relaunch where WWF audiences got up and visibly walked out in droves (as well as changed the channel) when WCW wrestlers -- ANY WCW wrestlers, Booker T included -- were on television wrestling one another.
FWIW, I like Booker T.

| #20 Posted on 9.7.02 1439.58 | A lot has changed on the shows since then. I don't know if there's anyway to tell how the audience reaction translates into things like buyrates or ratings or merchandise (does Booker even have any big merchandise items? He doesn't seem to have a shirt to push on TV), but in watching the Raws of the past month or two, Booker's been getting a steadily growing, strong crowd reaction (which, I hope they quickly realize, is getting hurt by the lousy endings of his big matches).
This week, the crowd filled in the "sucka!" part of his catchphrase before he did it, which was pretty reminiscent of the crowd hitting "'cause Stone Cold said so!" or Rock's "...is cooking!" when they first started making waves with those respective catchphrases. He's definitely picked up major steam with the crowd based on watching the shows and hearing their response to some of what he's doing. | | Pages: 1 2 Next
