This. I asked for a paper ballot but was told I couldn't have one. Going to be writing to the Board of Elections.

I'm originally from New York, so I do miss those old switch-and-lever voting machines. When it comes to voting, I don't have the same level of trust in electronic.

Exact same thing as the two in the post above me. I think it's a state-wide thing.

New Yorker, still using the circa-1965 switch and lever machines. We had a touch-screen system at our precinct this year, but it was reserved for disabled access.

It's sounding like this was the last presidential election for these machines, we may still use them in 2010, but by 2012, there will be a different system.

Touch-screen with a handy paper print-out that scrolls by on the left of the screen so you can verify your vote.

In Oklahoma we get two feathers. One black and one white. We one of them in a box.

Just kidding.

Paper ballot, complete the arrow with a marker.

Scantron here too. The world's shortest standardized test, as there were just five offices and two ballot questions (no to 1, yes to 2).

Here in Canada, it's standardized across the country. Everybody gets a pencil and a ballot that looks like this:

We're still using the "complete the arrow" optical scan. My wife and I voted early last week Wednesday to avoid the madness today.
