Seems I'm fitting right in with the other left-wing libertarians on this board. I don't look anything like Gandhi, though.

... Although I was born and raised in a predominately conservative household, I think I'm actually becoming more of a liberal with each passing year. This does, in fact, frighten me a little bit.
“Don’t you look at me like that, ya little bastard. You eyeballin’ me? Don’t you dare. I done whipped your ass once, you little sumbitch, don’t think I won’t do it right here right now - BAM! You know that guy Tom Bodett, leaves the lights on for ya? Just the opposite - I’ll turn your lights out. Do you understand me? That’s right, that’s what you call me ‘yes, sir, no sir.’”
“I hate it when those guys have their little sparklers and the explosions. ... You probably liked that Angleslam, didn’tya? You think he deserved that, huh? Huh LOOK AT ME HILLBILLY BOY! You’re damn right it don’t, I don’t give a damn WHAT you like. Don’t even look at me. No, look at me, you ain’t gonna look at me when I’m talking to ya? You disrespecting me? Look at me, JR. I said look at me. That’s right. Boy, I’ll run right over you like a speedbump. Don’t get nervous. Stop sweatin’.”

This must make me a very evil person!
Seriously, I could honestly apply about two-thirds of those descriptions to all of the ardent conservatives I have met and/or witnessed in my life.
I guess I don't have much faith that our increasingly impersonal society will take care of its citizens on its own. I do still have faith that, despite all of its abuses and inefficiencies, our "safety net" system is not beyond redemption. If all policians of all parties would stop focusing on increasing their own power, they could find a way to fix things before they get even worse. Unfortunately, my faith that this will actually happen wanes every day. If that makes me a Liberal, then so be it. | Torchslasher

| #34 Posted on 27.11.02 2055.51 | Instant Rating: 5.44 | This quote is great:
If we recognise that this is essentially an economic line it's fine, as far as it goes. We can show, for example, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung and Pol Pot, with their commitment to a totally controlled economy, on the hard left. Socialists like Mahatma Gandhi and Robert Mugabe would occupy a less extreme leftist position.
They compare Gandhi and MUGABE? I am more interested in Mugabe's position on torturing and slaughtering white farmers than I am on his other economic initiatives.
That said, I scored:
Economic Left/Right: 7.75 Authoritarian/Libertarian: -1.08
I am almost exactly next to Milton Friedman on that graph. Woo hah. Hell, my test results make Grimis look like Al Gore. And I want to be the 5th Horseman of Capitalism, maybe when one of you turns heel/left.
Edit: Also worth noting there are more mass-murderers and dictators on the left. Coincidence...?
