Looks like they got hacked pretty bad. Apparently one of the mods was unable to salvage anything and had to rebuild from the ground up. Any idea who did the hacking? Random incident, or pissed off ex-board member?
I wish I could respect the law. I can't. The law is a whore who demands payment up front, and then attempts to evade providing the service paid for.

From what I read on the forum yesterday, it appeared to be a Dutch person who was looking for an easy site to disrupt and DVDVR was the unfortunate winner of their search.
They tracked it down to a hacking site, but the person who owned that site said it was not the person indicated, but rather someone trying to make it look like that person in order to cover their tracks.
I'm sure someone has more details than I do - I'm just remembering off the top of my head here - but the idea was to make some changes to avoid the problem in the future and eventually put the old posts back up. That was the idea as of yesterday at least.
Random incident. There was an upgrade to their message board software (invision) to cover a security hole, they didn't get to upgrade right away, and twice got admin accounts screwed up by kids who knew about the security flaws and were trying them on every invision board they could find.
Both times, they were able to basically reset things before the hacks - they only lost all the data on the upgrade, which is probably while they were hesistant to do it to begin with.
My favorite part was where the little Dutch teen would hang out on the board and fielded insults about his non-mastery of the English language and miniscule penis. Made it easier to forgive when you can actually tell the hacker that he whacks off to his Golden Earring records.
The worst part was the loss of all the WWF DVD threads. It was hard enough getting people to participate (Bix would rather flame me at OLC than discuss wrestling or dub DVD sets for cash donors) without throwing their comments away. Was it not possible to run parallel until the new boards were stable and content was saved? Does the content still exist somewhere on the site?

I'm more shocked that the dude has a stuffed Sting wrestling doll on his bed. Is it his favorite bedtime buddy? Does the Stinger keep away the boogeyman when he hugs it tight? Does he have an "American Made--Hulkster Rules, Brother!
