| #21 Posted on 22.1.03 1114.29 | I think Buffy has really sucked lately and Angel has been far superior. One thing that would make me happy is at the end of the season have Buffy kill Spike, or Spike kill Buffy. Because I hate the both of them. And for the love of God bring back Faith.

| #22 Posted on 22.1.03 1140.02 | Instant Rating: 6.44 | Okay, now I don't watch Buffy really, but I caught some of last night's episode, and here's my thought.
WOO! Thank God the prude girl from Freaks and Geeks got another acting gig. She is really good at her role. I also think that her character not being into drugs is a little nod to her Freaks character (at least that is how I will look at it).
And maybe I'm going to Hell for this, but Harriet The Spy has blossomed into quite the cute young woman.

Thank you Excalibur! I found myself saying the exact same thing whenever this was brought up on the show last night. Is it a lack of continuity on the writers' part?
No way in hell Xander can forget Faith.
I hope that they're intentionally not discussing Faith because they don't want the potentials to know about the "black sheep" of the slayer family.
Of course my idea of a happy ending for the series would be Xander enjoying a Penthouse moment with Faith, Buffy, Anya, and Willow.

| #24 Posted on 22.1.03 1711.33 | Instant Rating: 6.41 | I think I read somewhere else today that "unoffically" according to the Buffy people, the "official" slayer lineage goes through Faith now, not Buffy, which is why a Slayer wasn't generated when Buffy died fighting Glory.
The more I think about it, the more I think I'd prefer the show just ending when SMG leaves after this year.
-Tangent: While I thought this season was a marked improvement over last year, it's taken a big hit in my eyes while watching the season 3 DVDs, which I think are the high point of the show.

| #25 Posted on 22.1.03 1737.17 | I'd have to think that the Scoobies haven't forgotten Faith, but I think they aren't mentioning her simply to keep the SIT's from getting confused. They had enough confidence issues with Buffy after the Turok-han kicked her ass. The last thing she needs is them questioning her even more since she isn't really the Slayer. Although, then again, given that Faith probably hasn't been doing much in prison, that kinda does make Buffy *the* Slayer. I like semantics.
AngryJohnny, what is the law of regulars deaths??? And whatever it is, I would think if this were the last season, then any and all laws would get thrown out the window. Still, I don't expect Xander and Anya to end happy, although I'd like it.
Which SIT is Harriet the Spy???
There are way too many characters to keep track of right now (as evidenced by an SIT disappearing and no one noticing...). They really need to whittle down the cast, or stop focusing so much on the new slayers. Andrew, while occasionally funny, doesn't seem to be serving much of a purpose, and Woods and Joyce, who are interesting, haven't been in the last two episodes. Plus, we still don't know what's up with Giles.

(And while I know that Brendan is like twice Tracthenberg's age, does anyone else think given that ending scene, Dawn's prior crush on Xander, and Xander's "Daddy like" in the episode with the boy and the varsity jacket, that maybe they are setting up Xander/Dawn in the future. I mean, she's only seven years younger than him, which means that she'll be 25 when he's 33, which is workable, if you think about it... Of course, this assumes the show *has* a future
Setting up Xander/Dawn for the future? Well, consider this: In his heartfelt speech to Dawn last night, he pointed out that, because he's not in the spotlight, he's been able to notice things others miss. He observes. He sees things.
In other words, he watches.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Wait, that stuff got blown up, meaning any formality behind the slayer lineage is gone, meaning that...

It really depends, but every season, a regular character is supposed to bite it.
Buffy and Jessie (the "fourth Scoobie") died first season. Kendra, Angel and Miss Calender died second season. I'm not sure if anybody important died third season, Mr. Trick? Faith left the show. Fourth Season, I don't know, though Oz left the show. Fifth, it was Joyce and Buffy again. Sixth it was Tara. Seventh...Well...Jonathan died, and Giles might be dead.
Still, I don't expect Xander and Anya to end happy, although I'd like it.
So would I.

| #29 Posted on 22.1.03 2028.35 | Not to be Mr. Pessimist here, but who ever said that Angel's going to be renewed, either? That is, unless Whedon has a contract that says Angel *must* be picked up by UPN if WB axes it.
The problem, btw, with Angel's ratings right now, isn't the show -- it's that f'n Dawson's Creek. Bad lead-in right now.

Don't forget PrincipI Flutie (first I think) and Snyder (third), and Forrest (fourth). One every season. Tick tock Anya.
