YES. All the Muppet stuff, actually (Muppet Family Christmas, Christmas Eve on Sesame Street, A Muppet Christmas Carol). I want to find a copy of "The Christmas Toy" so bad but it doesn't seem to exist on DVD.

Otherwise, my family watches "Christmas Vacation" every Christmas Eve and I have to find time to watch "Scrooged", "A Charlie Brown Christmas" & "A Christmas Story" sometime in December or it just feels wrong somehow.

And the Christmas episode from the first season of "The West Wing". That makes me cry every year.

None! I find most of them to be overly sappy and schmaltsy.

However...I did like the UK's Office 'movie' though.

I've seen 18 movies so far this year: Because I Said So - (2*); Borat - (5*); Children Of Men - (4*); Die Hard 4 - (5*); Enchanted - (5*); Evan Almighty - (3.5*); Fantastic Four 2 - (4.5*); Hairspray - (5*); Harry Potter 5 - (4*); Knocked Up - (4*); The Last Mimsy - (4*); Mr. Brooks - (4*); Resident Evil: Extinction - (3.5*); Shrek The Third - (3*); Simpsons Movie - (3*); Spiderman 3 - (3.5*); Superbad - (1*); Transformers - (2*)

Just wanted to bump this thread for this year and see if anyone has added any new films to their holiday lineup. Based on the suggestion of a few posters here, we watched Love Actually (saw it before but forgot it was holiday-based) and Holiday Inn (wasn't bad at all) this past weekend and are about halfway through our normal lineup.

How about you? Any ones not listed here which you have been watching this season?

I'll second Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas.

We also like "One Magic Christmas" (imdb.com) with Mary Steenburgen and Harry Dean Stanton.

The only thing my family has to watch at Christmas is our old tape of The Claymation Christmas, featuring the California Raisins and a running joke about wassail ("Enjoy the great taste of Wassail...in cans"- Mike Nelson).

I usually try to watch A Christmas Story or A Christmas Carol (the George C. Scott version). Oh, and Beavis and Butthead Do Christmas or whatever that one is called.

SANTA CLAUS: THE MOVIE! and JINGLE ALL THE WAY. I don't know why, but it just isn't Christmas until I watch them.

LOVE ACTUALLY has a special spot as well, but for other reasons.

I have never been a fan of christmas movies (other than A Christmas Story), this time of year I always watch Hexed because it takes place on New Year's Eve.

Third for Emmett Otter. My mom loves it, and watches it with the kids every year. Although now they're watching the DVD version with Kermit cut out.

As I have stated before, this one is fine but the Alistar Sim 1950 B&W version IMO is by far the best and truest version.

Christmas on Mars (The W at Amazon) finally came out after many years of waiting. Wayne Coyne has an odd take on Xmas, but I'll check it out.

Sorry Doctor, but my namesake (Matt) is correct. I love the George C. Scott version the best...although you can't really go wrong with either version.

How can you guys keep saying these things when EVERYONE IN THE WORLD should agree that Carol Kane whacking Bill Murray in the head with a toaster beats all of them?

You are absolutely right. It's not Christmas if I don't see that scene.

Incorrect sir! The best Christmas movie is Batman Returns. I would also accept Die Hard.

I understand but when our daughter came home from school and said kids were making fun of Santa, etc. she asked if I believed in him. With a straight face, I could tell her yes. I guess it all depends on how you define the jolly old elf.
