We have a 2006 PT Cruiser, which is okay to drive, but the mileage on it isn't what it should be for a smaller 4 cylinder car.
Also in the driveway is a 2008 VW Routan SEL. The wife's minivan, but I'm driving it now, as the Cruiser needs a few repairs to be reliable for a daily driver. It only gets about 19 MPG, and my wife drives about 450-550 miles a week for her work, so we bought:
2016 Chevy Cruze Eco. Manual 6 speed, 45 MPG (by our calculations) and it's a fun little car to zip around in.
Aaaaand the brakes went on the CR-V. Between that and the transmission, it would have cost more to fix it than it's worth, so I sold it and it'll probably get junked. Now I need to find something and a way to pay for it... anyone have any good, reliable recommendations for something that'll be in the $5,000-8,000 range from a dealer?
