Are there certain issues that cannot be discussed or brought up in the Politics forum? Because if so, someone PLEASE provide guidance. I just don't want to post my opinions or thoughts to only be silenced or warned. Respectfully, I really would like to know.

    Thanks.

If you have any doubts, don't bother posting. That is the easiest way.

"You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon.
Need I say more?"

Well, if someone gets offended, should they not post either?
When someone disagrees, should they not post either?
If someone has a constructive argument, should they not post either?

BTW, I had NO doubts when replying in a certain thread, so unless you know what this is about, or haven't taken time to read the thread in which this issue has come up, should you not post either?

Whatever.

>sigh<

There's heat and there's light. If you can't figure it out yourself, stick to lurking.

Again, this is where my gripe is. I was not trying to troll, or be an ass. I simply pointed something out, that frankly, a lot of people agree on. And if that's an issue, then I want to know. In other words, if I happen to insult the moderator of this board because I comment on a figure he respects (I don't know if that's the case), then I would like to know, because when I strike back on issues discussed in forum, I want to be a responsible threader. I am not here to stir the pot. I've seen lots of different things posted here that were questionable as far as taste goes, but I don't think my reply was out of line.

Further, what is lurking? Is it along the same lines as trolling? Because if it is, that's something I don't want to do. I enjoy this board, and I think there are some awesome conversations with intelligent people that take place here. This is a community held up by you, your brother, and whomever you deem responsible enough to help you police this board. I respect that, and I'm not tring to find my way out of this community. Call it taking things a little seriously, but hey, sometimes this is the ONLY place a soldier can get into it with intelligent folks that know what they're talking about.

So whatever happens, fine. But I ain't haterizin', I'm just Wienerboard hypothisizin.

Word Lif3.

Davros,

If you have specific questions, ask me in a Personal Message.

I'm leery about this whole thing because, frankly, I've had to ban both you and your brother on different occasions.

If you are getting the impression that we don't tend to agree on what is appropriate, I would think you are getting the correct impression.

I'm not sure what the answer is. If you feel like you want to hang out here, then I would recommend that you personally (and this is not necessarily aimed at anyone else who has not been banned in the past) think long and hard before posting. If you can see someone reading your comment and thinking that it's incredibly stupid (and you are hoping that we will see the charm in it, see past joke threads or Dusty impressions) then just don't post it.

Actually, that's aimed at everyone. If there is a potential that I could think that what you are saying is incredibly stupid, the odds are that I'm thinking that and it's annoying me.

Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.

Can we make that an announcement, just to get rid of the Try to Have Some Class? That thing's been there since February, and it's depressing.

Of course, what's MORE depressing is that there keep being reasons to leave it up.

EDIT: Thanks.

Of course, now the announcement is broken (to my eyes, at least....).

It's not really broken. Technically, the link is pointing to a blank space.

I haven't decided if I want to delete all of the old announcements, which will cause the announcement to disappear from the forums.

Ah.

That would explain that, then. Any idea if/when it'll be back?

I'd guess probably the next time we need a group reminder that as benevolent as it is, the board is still a dictatorship.

Why Pro Wrestling proves the INS cannot keep terrorists out of the United States: If a felon like Nathan Jones is allowed into the United States with no special skills (unless being totally inept in the ring counts, but I think there are enough totally inept people in the US to keep that skill from being unique or special), then how the hell can they justify keeping anyone else out?

Wouldn't it almost have progressed past a dictatorship to a feudal system by now, where the Zims are the supreme rulers of the land, and the mods are the feudal lords, infighting and deleting each others' posts?

I keep meaning to demote all the mods but I just never get around to it.

I actually wasn't really taking it personally, or as a criticism, or trying to be mean. Let's all play peak-a-boo -- as friends.
