My wedding, if all goes well. It's not going to be a big affair or anything, but, still, it doesn't get much more important than that.
Getting a Democrat back in the White House, if all goes well. (I know, they wouldn't actually take power until 09, but you know what I mean.)
New stuff at work--IAGW I'm going to be training new people starting soon; it's a farily big deal and I'll be flying to Dallas to get certified to do that. Combine that with pay increases I got this year (due to a promotion and due to overall changes in the company's pay system) and I should be making fairly decent money in the new year--before this year I really wasn't doing well.
Wow, thanks for asking this question, SSS--it really does look like there's a lot of reason for me to look forward to this new year!
I am also looking forward to my wedding. It should be a blast.
Other things, off the top of my head:
-More travel -Batman and Iron Man movies -The Calgary Stampede (my answer every year) -The NFL/NHL playoffs -Running a decent 10k race -The USA federal election -The (possible) Canadian federal election -Three paycheques in February with the leap year -Maybe getting a dog

Amen! We don't even have television anymore and we live in a state that's effectively being boycotted by most of the major candidates and I'm still sick of political ads.
Some other important things that I expect will happen this year: I'll either be a full time teacher or I'll be in an entirely new career. Taking over as the head coach of a High School baseball team. Hopefully getting both knees scoped. The opportunity to really study and then teach the Pastoral Epistles.

Yes, I finally have updated the Troll Moment of the Week! This week is brought to you by ;
"STONEBOY!" , who brought us the following such pieces of wisdom as:
STONEBOY!: "THIS GOES MESSAGE GOES OUT TO ALL CANADIANS ESPECIALLY MONTREAL WHEREVER THE F#CK THAT IS".
Kidbrooklyn: "Please god tell me that you're making fun of the douche who started this thread...
Wait, no he isn't. He's serious. I hadn't read his previous brilliance before. I apologize" (in reference to a reply by James1978).
Weird things I've eaten while living in Cambodia: Fried ants (mostly tasteless) Fried frogs (not just legs, but an entire frog just dropped in a fryer) * Rat meat (disgusting, and very tough) * Cockroach (I vomited)
