He just squashed the IC Champion in like 15 seconds. Oh the POOR guy, they are sooo burying him, what happened to his push?? He should have won in 4 seconds and it should've been the for the IC Title, and it should be for a shot at the World Title at Wrestlemania, and he should be the next pope.
Sounds about right. That's the exact reason I hate Tazz, but I guess RVD's a little different because I can actually stay awake during his matches. Still, he's overhyped a bit too much by the ECW faithful.
RVD matches are like a form of torture for me. I personally don't think he has any business beating the I-C Champion, period, let alone the way he did. The perfect push for RVD would be something like WWA Mid-Carder. He has no mic skills, his "innovative" offense is stupid (I'd punch a guy in the face before I'd flip over and ram my shoulder into his midsection and so would all of you). Yeah, his offense is flashy, but it doesn't look real. Oh well, I guess it is kind of fun to laugh at all the losers who complain about his push...he's been there for less than 7 months.
And I think you're fat. So how do you like me now?

Yeah, I hate when grown men pretending to hit each other isn't 100% real looking.
Can you guy get anymore whiney. Are you finished? Good lord you guys are worse than the RVD marks. You might not like RVD, and you might not like people who like RVD, but you know what I think that you are all greatly outnumbered.
It's not just the ECW faithful...common fans seem to *love* this guy. The pops he was getting when he first arrived in the WWF were insane. His pops were so huge apon entering the WWF, he was soon maineventing RAW and Smackdown on a regular basis. He even main evented a pay per view with Austin and Angle. Not only that he adopted to the WWF style faster than anyone EVER expected. The fact that the WWF has pushed him down the card hasn't stopped his following in the least. The majority of the fans want RVD, but the WWF for one reason or another doesn't quite see it that way yet.
RVD is suffering from the same internet syndrome the Rock suffered from for years, 'the common fans love him so I've got to be cool and hate him.' Get over yourselves.
RVD is over. Don't deny it. Just because he's got the pops the magnitude of the Rock, doesn't mean you should knock the fans. I have friends who are Rock fans, and I don't complain when they hype the Rock and hope he wins each night and PPV.
Speaking of RVD, a friend of mine had a dream that RVD did the 5-Star Frogsplash off of a 18-wheeler.
I don't have a problem with RVD being liked, although he's not my favorite, but I just don't think they should whine and complain about him not being pushed, when he IS being pushed, he's lucky he didn't start a feud with Lawler when he came in like Tazz and Raven. And then tonight he destroyed the IC champ. Not everyone you like is going to get pushed straight to the World Title.
It's sort of like Booker T back in the WCW, before he won his first World Title everyone said he never got a good enough push, when he won the tag team belts like 20 million times and won the TV Title numerous of times too.
So RVD is popular with the fans, he's been there less than a year, you know how many people will be unhappy backstage if he were to get a title shot. Is messing up the entire locker room worth pleasing the fans? No. Plus they have plenty of main eventers that are better than RVD.
When Hurricane Helms made his return he got a HUGE pop, does that mean he should get a World Title shot too?
"The WWF has depushed him because crybabies like Bradshaw and UT bitch that RVD hasn't paid his dues yet. "
I'm sorry but I find that statement to be complete and UTTER bullshit. SO the fans chant RVD, the chanted Y2J yet some people (including me) felt he 'wasn't ready for the title yet' Now he is ready...he's actually been ready for a while jsut no one was getting if off Austin that's was evident.
So just be paitent they don't want to 'uber-push' RVD cause then fans will get bored of him...he'll probably win the IC title off of him at either NWO or WrestleMania so just wait.
Juding from comments on RAW they may be heading towards an RVD/Booker T feud. Also many people feel that maybe Regal will be dropping the IC belt to him soon (although they might not be done with Regal/Edge just yet). Either way there are only good things ahead for RVD.
As for Austin/HHH selling for Jericho. Just go look at the few matches that Jericho had with Austin over the summer and the KOR Triple Threat match. As well THE tag match and the Jericho/HHH Last Man Standing match from Fully Loaded. Jericho is not some green wreslter. So I don't see Austin or Triple H having a problem selling for him, they are both professionals.
I had to jump into this. I love RVD, I do think he is the next big thing. What I think RVD fans complain about is that he is not used right. And they are correct when saying that. All of the roster is not being used right. The only ones in storylines are HHH, Steph, Vince, Flair, Edge, Jericho, Regal, Kane, Big Show and the incoming NWO members thats about it. Everyone is using their gimmick to get by. Austin and Rock have been living off their gimmick since Survivor Series ended and it sucks. They have the two biggest stars and they have nothing going for them besides getting the crowd to chant. My God, Goldust is cutting better time than RVD, Christian, Storm and the entire tag team division.
Lets be honest here, the WWF should be pushing guys like RVD, because he and the others need some good storylines to work with. If the NWO does not encompass all, which sad as it seems needs to be done, I will be pissed. The NWO should put Rock, Austin and the others in storylines in which to sink their teeth into. RVD deserves to be pushed as does most of the roster, but instead its Kliue 2002 with as someone here put it, "A thousand years of darkness" on the way.
A Fan- I hate the NWO then, I hate them even more now.
Oh, I think Jericho's a great wrestler. I just have this paranoia that Austin, HHH, and some of the other guys don't sell for him like they should... although he pinned Austin and Rock in the same night, so what do I know?
I think that guys like RVD, Jericho, Storm, Edge, Angle and a few others are the future main eventers, but they're just constantly being screwed with by the old guard.. guys like Undertaker just aren't ready to give up their spots... it's frustrating to watch.
Ya but when was the last time the Undertaker head lined a PPV? Judgement Day 2001? He already HAS lost his spot. HHH just returned so of course he'll be headlining PPV's for a while. Jericho is champ till at least Wrestlemania. So he's headlining PPV's till and possibly for a bit afterwards. Yes RVD is plastered all over the posters for No Way Out sending all his fans dreaming of him fighting for the titel thier...but when was the last tiem a WWF PPV Poster MEANT anything?
The thing is there are ALOT at the top right now. Jericho, Austin, Rock, HHH, Angle, Undertaker (starting to make his way back up there), Booker T, RVD, Kane. (although those last three are on the border). That's a lot of guys. Yes Undertaker will be retiring soon. But I don't see Ausitn, Rock or HHH retiring ANY time soon. This is wear the 'mythical glass cieling' comes in.
There is no glass cieling it's just the amount of Physical Space 'at the top'. They're not just gonna drop Austin, HHH or Rock down to IC level so RVD can get his 'chance at the top'. Ok so they DID try that with HHH and while it was entertaining people were complaining that he was 'hogging the belt' when someone else could have had it, and 'squashing the Hardys' because he could. Whatever.
All I do have to say is RVD WILL get his chance, just be patient. I'm sure someone will come in shortly saying Egde or Test should be getting shots at the WWF Title (BrewGuy looking your way). In fact I've heard a few people suggesting that Edge dropping the IC title might be so he can move into position for the World title....which is BS, he's not ready for it yet, there's no room for him yet.
I find myself in agreement with certain things being said here. One thing is that yes, the WWF did damage RVD's heat in order to appease people in the back. People wanted to see RVD more than the Undertaker. This didn't fit into the WWF plans or their accepted M.O. for how people are pushed. So they had to bring him down, because Vince doesn't tolerate the fans going against his will. Never has, never will. I don't think right now RVD is ready for the title. I *do* think fans would have accepted him winning the belt in the 3 way match with Austin and Angle though. But again, winning the title in the first couple years with the WWF doesn't fit the plan (except for Hogan, Warrior, Undertaker, Angle) so that was no dice. I disagree with the physical space argument. A few years back it seemed like any number of people would be reasonable threats to the title. Nowdays though, the prospect of someone outside of Rock/HHH/Austin holding the belt for any length of time seems ludicrous. Just look at how many of the net fans still don't like Jericho as champ, and we're all supposed to be hanging on his every move here on the net. As for RVD's future, I'd guess this year it involves 12 months of clustering and meaningless feuds with other upper midcarders. I'm sure he'll feud with Booker T, Test, Regal maybe Angle (who *is* an upper midcarder who gets to play with the top card sometimes), Big Show, maybe if he turns he gets Kane, Edge, and eventually probably Benoit. Lastly, it was said that if RVD got a push the locker room would get upset. If that's the way pushes are decided, then what we saw tonight on Smackdown scares me even more than it did before.
Just a quick note on the Austin/HHH selling for Jericho. My first reaction was, of course Austin will sell for Jericho, but HHH? Never. I hope that I'm wrong, and the fact of the HHH/Jericho Last Man Standing Match should prove me that way, but let's just look at the way Austin and HHH affect me. Austin (as a heel, or as the guy I want to lose the match) always seems to find just enough to kick out. He works great matches, and then you think he's dead, and just barely he's out of it and you think "Damn! I thought for sure he was down for the count!" HHH never seems to lose. He never seems to sell death (40ft car drop, I'm looking at you!) or any kind of finisher. You see him about to get Rock Bottomed and you think "Bleh, lowblow/reversal, or maybe he'll just kickout afterwards anyway." This actually made the UT/HHH match at Wrestlemania very exciting for me, cause I really wanted to see Triple H lose, but I wasn't even sure if UT could cope with all the things that make Triple H matches Triple H matches. I was marking out like mad when UT finally won that thing. Basically, unless they find a way to make Triple H vunerable before Wrestlemania, I'm going to be bored as hell with a Triple H win, and will be cheering madly for Jericho to retain. That's not the way things should be, unless they switch the face/heel roles along the way.
I've never seen any of the footage from St. Louis but the book by Larry Matysik about Sam Muchnick certainly makes the place sound very interesting. Maybe he wants it to shore up the NWA part of WWE 24/7?
