TB Fans, you better hope that Pittman ends up playing somehow. Arizona had a pretty good offensive line last year, and Jones still couldn't do anything.
BTW, has there ever been such a mass exodus from an offense as what has happened to Arizona this year? By my count they'll have at least 6 different offensive starters from last opening day, including both WRs, the QB, the RB, and the FB!
Lastly, Akili Smith joins an already crowded QB situation in GB. Behind Favre, they have longtime backup Doug Pederson, top rated NFL Europe QB Craig Nall, "project" Eric Crouch, "no-chance" Zak Kustok, and now Smith. Any predictions on which two will come out on top of this jumble?
NOTE: The above post makes no sense. We apologize for the inconvenience.
I figure they'll probably put Crouch on the practice squad / scout squad, or whatever they're calling it. Smith and Pederson get the nods to the big club, although in reverse order on the depth chart.
But these are the Packers we're talking about. Unless Farve loses his head and/or another body appendage, he's going to play.

Sherman will find a way to keep Nall around for awhile, even if it's on the NFL Europe roster. Odds are he's the guy of the future. Pederson=Zeke Bratowski: dependable vet (Eagles' starter in '98, wasn't he?), but not The Next Big Thing in Titletown.
The day Favre DOES hang up his cleats, this whole state's on suicide watch...and I'll probably be pulling 18-hour shifts at my station.

Naah! When he retires we've got 10 years of denial, followed by a Favre stint as head coach before sounding the suicide watch.
At which point we'll have our next Super Bowl squad in the making...just in time for me to watch from my deathbed in 2057.

Haha, if you want a funny image, picture a headless Favre rallying the Pack to victory.
Considering the QB competition for my team this year is between Kordell, Chris Chandler, Henry Burris, and Rex Grossman, I have little doubt that the Headless Favre Packers would sweep the Bears this season.

Ironically, a lot of people in Denver had a preference for Kordell over Plummer, so if Kordell does fail in Chicago I'd place the blame squarely on the shoulders of John Shoop and his alleged offense.
Speaking of Plummer, I have high confidence in Beuerlein running the Bronco offense (from reports he was awesome during mini-camp, natch) should Jake falter, making Shanahan look like the little fool he is.

So Favre will start, Pederson will backup, and then...uh, Smith/Crouch/Craig Nall will magically merge into one?
The Packers could just ask Crouch to play somewhere other than quarterback. No harm could come of that.
Over 1450 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!
Oliva: You are the weakest link! Goodbye!
Stewie: Ahahaha. Oh God, that's funny. That's really funny. You write your own material? Do you? Because that is so fresh. 'You are the weakest link. Goodbye!' You know I've never heard anyone make that joke before. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference that outside program before. Because that's what she says on the show, right? Hmmm? 'You are the weakest link. Goodbye!' And ye...ye..yet you've taken it and....and used it out of context to insult me in this everyday situation. What a clever, smart girl you must be. To come up with a joke like that all by yourself. Mmmmm...that's so fresh too. Any Titanic jokes you want to throw at me as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity. Mmmm? Cuz i'm here God you're so funny!
I honestly believe with the right coaching that Eric Crouch could develop into an excellent NFL quarterback. What does Michael Vick have to offer that Crouch doesn't, besides maybe arm strength, which face it, few QBs have like Vick and quite a few successful NFL QBs don't have. Vick got drafted #1 even though he had thrown few passes at Virginia Tech, but Crouch wins the Heisman and all of a sudden Martz wants him to play wide-out? I've always wondered what would happen if someone said to Crouch "You're a QB, we're going to teach you a Pro-Style offense and you're going to go out there and make plays." Could he be any worse than Kordell, with his million-dollar athletic ability and his 5 cent head?

The problem is, we're already reserving roster spots for a long snapper, maybe a kick-off specialist, and now a punt returner? Doing that severely limits your flexibility at other positions. Unless Crouch shows something big at QB (and Nall beats out Pederson AND can hold for kicks), don't go buying any Crouch jersey.
