I've been able to avoid the 360 for two years now. But my willpower is waning. I listened to a podcast with their picks for the top games of 2007, and I was reminded of how many 360 games I want to play. So I think I'm going to have to take the plunge.
My brother tells me I should get the Elite, but he is an idiot. He thought that HD-DVD capability was built in to it, which it is not. Even if it was, that wouldn't be a good reason because I don't have an HD-TV, I don't plan to buy a new TV any time soon, and if I did, it would be just my luck that Blu Ray would win out.
I've discovered that I can buy the Arcade model + the 120 GB hard drive and it would come to less than the Elite costs. The same cannot be said for the Pro.
So I'm either going with the Pro or the Arcade + 120 GB hard drive, depending on whether 20 GB is enough space. What do you guys think? I won't be renting movies or downloading TV shows because I'm cheap. Is there any chance that the 20 GBs the Pro comes with won't be enough?
If you do decide to buy any downloadable content, like tv shows or games you can delete them off the drive and them download them again later. I've got several episodes of South Park that I do this with. I have no problem with the 20GB drive, but now they're starting to release original XBox games for download, which take up a few gigabytes themselves, so if you're at all interested in this, you may want a larger hard drive.
I'll go ahead and recommend Catherine, even though it's kind of a weird game that is definitely not going to be up everyone's alley. It's about a guy's relationship problems. There are interactive story sequences inter-cut with puzzle levels.
