If online gaming does anything for you, MVP is (I think) going to be the only one this year with that feature, FWIW. From what I've read, that looks to be the best one, unless you've got something against EA.

In the context of baseball, the use of drugs hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, the use of alcohol hurts only the player. In the context of baseball, womanizing hurts whom? Maybe the wife of the player? In the context of baseball, felonies are crimes against society, not against baseball. In the context of baseball, gambling is the only crime against baseball.
Gambling, in the context of baseball, is a capital offense and Rose has richly earned-- hell, he agreed to-- his death sentence. Let him hang.

Thus far the only game they reviewed was MVP and got about an 8.0/10 average. It seems they really liked the swing system, and as far as franchise mode they mentioned all teams have I think two minor league teams affiliated with them, so that adds some strategy. It may be worth a rental just to see if you like the batting system. I hear sega sports offering was the best last year, so maybe that would be the way to go.

plus the swing system is easier to use in MVP than any other game.

| #6 Posted on 7.3.04 1846.52 | IGN has a review of the PS2 version of MVP. They give it a 9/10, and the Cube version gets a 8.8/10. The PS2 review is 8 pages long, and it seems to say that it's the best baseball game available this year. I've heard that ESPN is laughably bad at some points, and that first person batting and fielding do nothing to enhance the experience.

ESPN hasn't gone gold yet, so I doubt that an advance copy has been made available to anybody yet. Two friends work at two different stores (EB and Gamestop) and they haven't seen the advance copies yet, and they usually get them weeks in advance. They got MVP at the beginning of last week.
