Kevin Garnett is a certifiable FREAK. He really truly is. On his birthday, Game 7 of the biggest game of his career to date, and he scores every single FG in the 4th as well as a clutch steal and block. My God.

Kevin Garnett is a 7'1" point guard.

Well, KG, if you thought this was a war, you ain't seen NOTHING yet. The Wolves may be better this year but so are the Lakers.

PG Cassell - Payton
SG Hassell/Sprewell - Bryant
SF Sprewell/Szczerbiak - George
PF Garnett - Malone (good luck, Kevin.)
C Johnson - O'Neal

I say Lakers in 6 tops. But hopefully Minnesota makes the Lake Show EARN those 4 W's.

I think the Timberwolves are improved more than the Lakers this year. I would take Cassell and Sprewell over Payton and Malone at this point. Last year the Wolves took the Lakers to six. I could see the series going either way in seven this year.

Rick Adelman might be the worst coach in a big game situation, with apologies to Don Nelson.

If a man is going to score all of his team's field goals in the 4th quarter of a freaking Game 7, why don't you maybe consider running extra bodies at him and force him to give up the ball?

Ervin Johnson, Mark Madsen and Gary Trent all logged significant frontcourt minutes for the T-Wolves in the 2nd half tonight, and Adelman still did not consider running Webber, Divac or Miller off of the aforementioned and at Garnett when the T-Wolves were clearly going through Garnett, usually on the blocks, ON EVERY POSSESSION.

I think you're easily much better off relying on recovering your defensive rotation with a bad-backed Sam Cassell or a very inconsistent Spree rather than singling up Garnett and letting him get off and win the series.

I am very intrigued by the Western Conference finals matchup, as Shaq and Garnett are nightmarish matchups for the opposition. I don't think the T-Wolves will have much of an answer for Kobe, either.

Lakers in 6.

Condolences to the board's #1 Kings fan/benevolent tyrant. Is it time to blow this team up and rebuild around Bibby and Peja?

The Line:

46 minutes, 32 points, 21 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists, 2 steals, and one sore back from carrying the whole state on his back in the fourth quarter.

Insane.

I'm spent-I don't even care what happens next, but what the hell-Wolves in seven.

"It's Game 7, man. That's it. It's for all the marbles. Sitting in the house, I'm loadin' up the pump. I'm loadin' up the Uzi. I got a couple M-16s, a couple 9s. I got a couple joints with some silencers on them. I'm just loading clips, a couple grenades. I got a missile launcher with a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war."

And Chris Webber was just THIS close to shedding his label as a big game nobody with that last shot. He didn't seem to want the ball in the last few minutes though (shock)...and Peja Chokavic was doing his usual thing as well. Too bad, Kings v Lakers was the better storyline matchup.

Actually, Anthony Peeler would have been a good option to take that last shot for Sacramento. Of course, because Anthony Peeler is an idiot, he wasn't available.

Good LORD was I spent after that last five minutes. That last shot couldn't have been any closer without making it. Cassell stepped up last night, and KG looked a bit tired, but they still pulled it thru. Good bye Kings. I hardly knew ye.

Oh, Forsty? One of my buds DID bring up the fact about a potential bet that if we beat them, that they have to give up the "Lakers" moniker.

Forsty?

Naaaah, Lakers vs. T-Wolves has to be a stip match: loser stays in Minneapolis. That'd motivate me to win.

True True. Cassell over Payton is an easy one and I still don't believe Malone is still as great as everyone says. But on the other Hand I'd take Shaq and Kobe over Garnett and anybody.

As for the Kings, yeah maybe they should blow up the team. Get rid of Adelman, Webber, say goodbye to Divac. But I don't think I would build around Peja either. Bibby definitely, and I'd keep Miller, Jackson, and Christie around. Really if you think about it the Kings get killed by the injury bug again. I mean sure they didn't look overly impressive this series or this game but Bobby Jackson probably would've made a big enough difference to win either Game 2 or 7.

Of course, Webber DID blow that WIDE-OPEN LAY-UP about two minutes earlier. *cough*choker*cough*

With all due respect to CRZ (not really, I say this to him all the time ;-)) the Kings are fucking schizophrenic dogs and nearly impossible to bet on - good riddance. Thankfully they managed to cover, but Jesus! - the over was only about 90 pts per team - nothing doing...but that's the least of everyone's worries.

Chris Webber proved his worth again. BRICK!!! And don't tell me just because "it rattled", it was close... He should have just thrown that ball over hand, or for old time sake called a TIMEOUT(HA!). Nice lay-up too (HA! HA!!)...BEST PART OF THE GAME - Garnett, 44 minutes and point guard playing time into it, FREEZES that chump Webber with a cross-over, leaving C-Webb holding his dick as usual. Phenomenal game all around by KG - he is really fun to watch when he is on. Also, the people that talk about this being fixed maybe ought to audit C-Webb's account this morning - if he didn't have a history of failure, I'd say something's fishy.

As pretty as Magic was, Ervin Johnson is twice as ugly.

Not sure where the Kings go from here(other than home, Malenko) - I can't see them dismantling the team, but they really should get rid of Webber...albatross and (if you believe in that kind of stuff) absolute jinx. When they are on, there is no other team in the league I like watching more, but damn is it brutal when they pull out their "C" game.

As far as the T-wolves - Get the Broom. On second thought, make that 5, as the Lakers always seem to have a down game. I * hope * KG has a big series, just to keep away from the Kobe Sportscenter Blowjob Express, but it will obviously take more than him...I see Cassell getting T'd up (and possibly ejected) before he could score 30. Sprewell could have a great series, but he is another one that's going to freak out when the officials get weird with the foul calling.

For the Lakers - Malone appears to be out for blood, as this is finally the year he * should * get his ring. Same with Payton - his defense and attitude in general have been sub-par, but being thisclose to the ring should get him motivated. I also expect Shaq to go out of his way to shove the MVP trophy down KG's throat (which he tried to do to Duncan last year, but was to fat and slow when crunch time came)...Kobe will be Kobe, but again, I'm hoping there is more to the series than him.

Best part about it - the scheduling is finally fast-tracked to a game every other day...about damn time.

I cant even blame Webber for bricking that last 3. But I *CAN* blame him for blowing that lay-up earlier, and for once again successfully defending his title as the undisputed "I cant get rid of this ball fast enough even if it's crunchtime & I'm less than a foot away from the basket" champion of the world. Maybe we should get him a belt made with a picture of a p*ssy on it.

Am I confusing something, or did he miss an opportunity for a wide open J when he decided to penetrate and dish to Miller too? He should've dunked on that layup attempt anyway. I didn't believe the choker label that's been placed on Webber until last night.

So Webber missed a layup, big deal, everyone makes mistakes or did you miss that pass to nobody that Garnett threw with under a minute left that could've cost them the whole series.

Webber has made a career of choking HORRIBLY in the clutch but i really think people shouldnt hold this season against him. he was never even close to healthy. i feel really sorry for the guy, you can see he wants it so bad.

I dont think anyone cares that Webber "makes mistakes", I think people's beef with him (well, mine anyway) is that he is supposed to be a veteran superstar but he chokes under pressure time & time again.

What kills me most about him isnt so much missing shots, I dont care about that. But how are you gonna be the big star on your team, but you never want the ball when it's crunchtime? And it's not like he's a guard passing the ball to the next guy who has a better look at the basket or something, he'll just dish it off to whoever he can get it to fastest!

If I was a Kings fan, I'd be super pissed. Not at just last night either. This is a pattern that Webber has had for years.
